    Wooohoo. Last night I had a mysterious white truck drive by very slow. I cracked a beer and sat on the top of the pile when they came back he said man that's a lot of firewood... My response was what's it to ya? He laughed and said I saw your fence on google too I think it's one of the seven wonders. He got a free beer for that haha.

    That's great! I'm getting ready to upload picture of our fence in a new thread. It's about half done (currently 1.75 cord, will be 4 when it's done).

    Got another half cord split today until we ran out of gas. Ordered a pizza since we have to go into town anyway. Hoping to hear back from my dentist's dad so I can check out his downed ash trees while I'm in that town. 8.92 cords split and stacked.

    I've been burning wood for 15 years but finally bought a 4 wheeler to help haul my wood. The price of propane hit 5.49 per gallon back in January and I doubled my efforts to cut more wood. 006.jpg 006.jpg 005.jpg 004.jpg 005.jpg

    Thanks for the welcome!!! I like Stihl saws and have a few. I like to pick them up and get them running good. I trade/sell and keep them way more often than I should!

    Welcome to the forum and looking at the stacks, you are a Hoarder already! I have burned wood for most of my life starting at the age of 4 1/2.
    In the 70s when the first oil crisis hit, furnace oil was 28 cents a gallon and doubled in a matter of years. I thought it was time to get serious about wood heat and had accomplished that by the early 80s with a very efficient wood gasification boiler connected to 1,000 gallons of thermal storage. At the time most every one I knew thought I was crazy and maybe so but now our electric bills are only $52.00 per month - a very nice benefit in my retirement years!
