    Yeah, I pay extra too.

Fortunately I don't have to worry about state taxes. When I worked in MA, even though I paid a lower rate of state tax than full time residents, it was still more than my property taxes, so I'm thankful NH doesn't have them.

Million dollar parking lot... Happens every plate race.
Either get rid of the plates... or put harder tires on them so that the cars
have to be driven, and not flatfooted...
To call it the highlight of the season is a joke.
    Used to be... not anymore..

There's a solution to that. I decided to use it.

My taxes went down on my annuities during the year, and when I filed, I got more back than last year even thought my income went up. The tax person explained to me that one of the reasons so my are getting less back, is they paid less during the 2018 tax year. So less tax paid in also can be a factor in measuring tax returns. I have extra taken out each tax year, then that up and down stuff mostly leaves me alone. what I can say is I made more and paid less tax. My wife and I have nothing but ourselves to declare. Itemizing is not a good choice for us.

I had rescheduled my pellet delivery from last Wednesday to today due to a big storm and us being on a couple of hills. I got a phone call from the delivery man (pallet warehouse Jay Maine) at 7:15 AM today, my bedside phone range. It was the delivery sitting out front of my house. Quick, get my pants on and to move the cars. Before 8 Am, he got the pellets tucked into the garage nice and neat and was on his way to the next delivery. Light snow falling. Hope his day goes well. Good business to deal with. I paid more than last fall, but I have to admit that he had warned me that would occur. He also said this was the biggest season for them to date. I was really surprised about that considering there is no oil shortages and prices are down for oil. Looks like heating with pellets is settling in with a solid base. When at HD, I noticed there is a constant stream of folks buying 4-10 bags at a time. Storage is still an ongoing concern for a lot of folks.

I spent some time yesterday and the day before going after the ice. I have to be very aggressive going after the ice on my ramp. Can't have an icy ramp.

Got to know the washing machine rather intimately last night as I had to take it apart.

Something was blocking the impeller in the drain pump.

    Bobby pins...

I gave them back to the wife.

I'm only 50 north of my previous home (25 years) and 100 miles north of my home town, the difference in weather is crazy! Especially considering the first two towns have identical weather. I'll be 58 when kiddo graduates high school and hope to bug out of here. Til then keeping an eye out for a place in town with city utilities and shelter from other houses/buildings etc. from the wind. Looked at a house a week ago, going to be STRANGE, I have not lived in a "neighborhood" since 1993.

I have grand children, but that doesn't stop the ice from building up.
Can't afford to have the wife or me go down on it. I have grippers for the shoes and prongs for the cane tip. Have to admit that I seldom use the grippers. too hard to take on and off. I buy that pet safe ice melt to use on the ramp and put on sand down with it. Good combination. I only use small pails to carry the stuff in. otherwise I wouldn't be able to carry it.
Doesn't have to have ice on it to cause a fall. Yesterday I fell while learning forward to reach something with my grabbers. Fell forward over an old trunk. :BrianK: Something on it poked me in my groin. Had to pull myself up to stop being poked. Today my back and one arm hurts. :pain:

Did you actually pay more in tax this year than last? The withholdings changed so most folks are getting more in their checks and less as a return/payment. Either way your point of having paid plenty is shared.
