The wood makes a nice muzzleloader stock too.

Well, the pie's about gone, but, not forgotten, i found out that if i put a piece in the microwave for 46 seconds, it comes out almost sizzling hot, and its just about like its just been baked. Time to get the french vanilla ice cream out. :D

Wow 46 seconds, you have this down to a precise number! Enjoyed the pics even though I was late to the party, but now I have to fast for my yearly physical tomorrow and this didn't help. Don't you think of things like that before you go carelessly posting pictures of homemade pie??? Shame on you! I was actually on here late at night to get my mind off food and found your post :picard:Now this next sip of water better taste like apple pie or I'm taking the next plane out of Newark heading for Wisconsin! I'll call you 46 seconds before I arrive ;)

Haha, I just realized I got my posters locations mixed up this was meant for B.Brown, but looks like im heading to Firewood Bandit s home. That's ok though because I see I'll at least be able to pick apples and then bake a pie. By the way, those are beautiful apples Bandit! B.Brown why such a vague location identity? Don't worry I won't really show up uninvited haha!

These are pictures of my peach and fig tree. It's an Italian thing around this area (if not every area) that you must have a fig tree or somehow you're not honoring your heritage and not a real salt of the earth gardener. I'm sure most of you already know this, but some go to great lengths wrapping them up in insulating material and cover with black bags or tarps to help them make it thru winter. They are extremely hardy though like weeds with an invasive root system and I find if I don't "winterize" them they simply die back down to the main stem and sprout back up again in the summer. This is fine with me because my property is small and this keeps the tree from growing out of control and the dry dead branches make for good kindling! The peach tree used to produce hardly anything and what it did grow always had some form of blight, even the leaves would get leaf curl. a few years ago I put a tomato garden next to the tree and now it gives us darn nice peaches! Not bad for city livin'! My theory is the result of watering the tomato's is now feeding the tree which must have been starving. It was an unintentional bonus.

I've done the even #s thing as well, lol. Don't ask why the 46 seconds, well, come to think of it, that's because when i take it out, i can hear it sizzling. Meaning its kind of peculating in it's own juices, and making the pie all nice and moist, energizing that nice cinnamon smell and taste. Oh, the taste, the taste of it. ha,ha,ha. Plus, if i add french vanilla or vanilla bean ice cream i use that to kind of help cool off the next bite of pie, that instant cooling,of a hot piece of pie allows you to enjoy it even more, by keeping you from getting burned and it enhances the flavor as well. :) A glass of milk with some ice cubes will do that same, but,not as good as ice cream.

Yes as Canadian border VT said blood sugar, but also cholesterol. What an ordeal! Doctor was busy today and so took a long while to get to me then told me he was short staffed due to holiday and the technician who takes blood work went home early because she was sick. So I needed to drive to another office two towns over after his visit to get my blood sampled. On top of that, even with all that fasting and suffering the Dr. said I was over weight WTF! I ate my first meal of the day about an hour ago.... Sushi!!!

:D image.jpeg It's not a apple pie, but they are still good on a cold night. Brownies might get some chcolate frosting later. Desert after we had ribeye steak, green bean's and a baked red potato with butter and sour cream, salt and pepper.

@ 2:00 Am had a little sliver of the brownies, let the dog out on the freshly fallen snow, yup, we got about another inch here in this part of the PNW, going to try the backpack blower this time to blow the snow off my totally cleaned off sidewalk and driveway. Not sure if it'll work, but, we'll give it a shot, as long as it's not walked on, and if it stays cold it should move it off the concrete.
