Thanks. I also own a Stihl MS460 (interseting story i may post soon)
Wish i had taken some. This cat was a "stray" that came into my house back in the early 2000's, walked around the family room once, jumps on the couch and goes to sleep! He adopted us. I said "who do you think you are Donald Trump or something, you own the place" The name stuck and he was forever known as "Donny" When i moved he adopted my landlord who kept him for a few yaers and then had to put him down...the coolest laid back cat ever!

Hopefully that will continue to serve you as well as it did us for many, many moons.

Welcome to the site. Many of us have or had pets that loved a good fire. Here is a shot of our late cat enjoying a good fire. DSC01221.JPG

When i first got my insert i walked into the family room and saw the cat on his back in all his glory, both legs stretched out as far as they could go. Later i watched as he was twisted with the front legs going north and the back legs going South, which earned him the nickname "Pretzel Puss" I would come home from work on a cold day,( i do home improvement and was out in the cold all day) let him in, i would lay on the hardwood floor in front of the fire open the stove door, let the heat radiate and he would join me. I often fell asleep. Fond memories.

What a wonderful, heartwarming and inspirational story. Hats off to Backwoods Savage!! The MS290 is a great saw. Ive owned mine since 2010, been through several chains. Replaced plug and air filter a couple times. The needle bearing on the sprocket crapped out last month which turned out to be an easy $10 DIY fix after a trip to the Stihl dealer...and it keeps going. Keep it clean, chain sharp and it will serve you well!

Ash with a little red Elm sprinkled in.
Ash and a little red elm. Ya I have looked on craigslist a lot, this is the only one I have ever called about. This worked out great there was a older gentleman who gave me a card of a local tree service who after they take down trees they let you come get the rounds. All the ash are dying here. Tornados are really rare in Ohio. Aren't they rare in Connecticut ?

Sadly the ash is dying here too...emerald borer beetle. When i score ash its usually dead with bark starting to come off. I prefer to cut "green and clean" wood, but sometimes have to take what i can get.
They are rare here. We dont have the monster ones you see in the midwest .When they do hit they wreak havoc on the wooded areas to the delight of us hoarders. 2019 is the 30 year anniv of the 1989 tornado one of the worst in state history(i was 19)
Springfield, Mass (an hour North of me) had one go though downtown in June 2011. Google it...some cool videos.
Thanks for the warm welcome. I already love it here!
