We had some strong straight line winds yesterday as this front was moving in. We were lucky at our house. Didn't fall on the house, but hung up. Got to get it down without tearing up anything. Others in our community weren't so lucky. IMG_20190213_081420.jpg IMG_20190213_081612.jpg
This is our house. Have a friend with access to boom truck to help.

These other houses are just up the road from us. IMG_20190212_171007405.jpg IMG_20190212_170957046_HDR.jpg IMG_20190212_170938717_HDR.jpg
You can see the metal roof in the back yard.

We will clean this up. We do yard work for this lady.

Glad you didn't get any serious damage to your house. Those straight line winds do some serious damage. The flatter areas around here usually get them bad in the spring and early summer. That looks like it will keep you busy awhile and you'll get some BTUs out of it along with helping out some neighbors.

Wow. That is really scary! I'm glad you are both OK. Looks like you will be busy for quite some time, remember that your chainsaw gas and oil cost money, and your time and labor are worth something.

You got it worse than us.
That oak on the roadside looks a bit long in the tooth to begin with.

T.Jeff Veal looks like y'all got the worst of it - it blew pretty strongly here but not nearly that bad! Pretty nasty front.

Glad y'all are safe and sound.

Wow, what a nasty mess. Glad it's only property damage not injuries, or worse.

Well, let me brag on the GOOD LORD. Had a pretty good breeze today, tree stayed hung up. A friend of mine brought a boom truck from his job, the owner is in my Sunday School class, over about 2:30 this afternoon, said he would be back about 4:00 to help with the tree. When he came back, the tree had already fallen, so I give GOD the praise for removing that dangerous situation. We were able to limb it and cut in sections that he could lift. Then he lifted me in the basket to remove the widow makers and trim other limbs from over the hunny's parking spot Looks like I will have a full day tomorrow. 5203.jpeg 5193.jpeg 5199.jpeg 5201.jpeg IMG_20190213_182257275.jpg IMG_20190213_182332376.jpg He wouldn't let me pay him anything, said tell the owner thank you sometime. I think I see one of my hunny's cheesecakes and a gift card in his near future.

Blessed in so many ways! Thank the good Lord for safety & good friends. One neighbor helping another is the best way to pay it back or forward!

You know they say there is no atheists in a fox hole and I would guess there wasn't any sitting in their house surrounded by trees with that kind of powerful wind blowing either. Just sayin. Glad no one got hurt and you took time to give the Lord praise for helping Y'all get through it. Seems adverse things like storms can really bring people together in a great way. Thanks T.Jeff Veal and all you other hoarders for putting things in perspective for me this morning.

Glad that you are safe and sound! Those winds were much better a short distance away from you. I don't think that we had anything over 20 mph.
Your friend and the bucket truck made easier work of a big task. Nice work on the cleanup, T.Jeff Veal !

That is a good way to get the trees down. Help from Mother Nature and a good boom truck with operator.
