I found this in my truck door’s side pocket. No idea where it came from. What is this?
Truck is an F350, and had been to a shop for a rear brake job, so I’m thinking this part is from some other job they were doing, but they didn’t recognize it when we asked.

No idea what it is but I don't think it came from the truck.
Could someone else have put it there? Anyone borrow the truck?

Hasn’t been lent out in a while. My wife gets to drive it more often than I do (I have a long commute). Hmmmm.

I replaced all four calipers along with lines and hose assemblies on my F350 single rear wheel. I don't remember seeing anything like that. Maybe it fell out of the tech's pocket?

How in the world did you come up with a k-nibbling pin for a relative bearing grease gun in your truck? Flamestead

    Just kidding. No idea.

About the only thing I have never worked on is an airplane...and I have no idea what that is...certainly never seen one on an F350

It’s for the spare tire winch. Goes between the crank rod and winch they have several different patterns like a locking lug nut

The round hole must just be there to allow gunch to fall out and not gum up the works.

It’s not a bad idea to lower the spare from time to time to ensure things aren’t froze up when you need it.

I bought my 350 off Geauga Co Job and Family Services. They had the spare in the bed where is still rides if I'm not hauling wood. I think the mechanism that lowers the thing is rotted from the salt they used on their lot. The bed was pretty bad, I bought a new take off over in Defiance a few weeks after I got the truck home.

Amazing. How many would have been left wondering what that silly thing was for. Good on you Warner and great on you Flamestead for offering the syrup.
