I’m not sure? That’s the first one I’ve seen since fall.

When I got up it was 12*. My wifes car wouldn't start so I drug the extension cord out and hook the charge up to the battery. I thought I was going to have to bring the cord in to get unthaw so the electricity could get through it. Battery charged and car going.
25* presently and sunny. Stove has a mixture of Honey Locus, Ash and some shoulder wood. Kind of saving my good stuff for the real cold.

I’m not ready for spring. I’d like another full month of winter

Winter has arrived in the PNW. Been down to 20* at night for several and now we have snow 6-8"in the lowlands. Expecting a big blow out of Canada Frazier river and some forecasts as low as 11*. We have gone from one wheel barrow of wood for 2 days to a wheeler a day stacked high. Mostly burning Fir and Deodar. Wif is keeping the stove cranked!

Oh, a foot in the sunny areas, at least 2feet in the woods. Nice crust, can walk right on top. Still icy as hell!

For sure I'd gladly take spring even though it means some mud for a while.

Warmest temp in 24? hours, -21 C feels -28 C or -5 f feels -18 f. It's funny how quickly you forget how much heat a stove churns out when you get normal cold. This would still be a cold average night time temp for this time of year.

Burn it all, and she'll be persuaded that a bigger hoard is prudent insurance for next winter!

Speaking of birds, I spotted some Canadian geese floating in cranberry bog while traveling to Plymouth for work Thursday. Hope that's a sign of spring being near!

The coastal temperature difference never ceases to amaze me. I've left here (way western MA, in the hills) at single digits this winter and found 30s waiting for me out there 162 miles east (and a couple thousand feet downhill)

Sugar maple doing the deed still, 18 here.

That's what the trend has been, a lot milder on the coast. I'm not complaining, I've been able to work outside in December, January, and now into February.

Was a nice mild day, still not 100% over the flu. Some physical labor should help, I worked on the log pile, a few hours. 8BF89C19-1EAC-4F93-8C2A-7DF98074689B.png D68992BE-ACA4-4B9F-A061-6677CC06AA40.jpeg CF91B388-4483-4411-B3BD-CD71C75F324A.jpeg A0E8FDAE-7F20-4AFD-81C8-A8FF79282DC9.jpeg 53B6ADB8-3BDB-4C16-9937-610EC1468148.jpeg 74A04CBA-5E3F-4C92-A193-6EAB06D370F3.jpeg FEAD9524-52FD-4E47-A87D-1757BED88A90.jpeg 69C3CEEA-5803-484F-9789-38B997FB2D86.jpeg F79766CE-C2C9-4D10-A6C8-925EAC5C5459.jpeg

We have 4 Bluebirds that showed up in January and have been hanging around. Crazy birds. I bought some mealworms last week to offer them some vittles as Jethro would say. They have been checking out the birdhouses. I guess the early bird gets the house.

Wow saskwoodburner , that sure is powerful cold and staying around a long time as well. How thick is the ice on the lakes around you up there? It's currently 15 f here which is really kinda of warm for February.
