So I always try and replace at least what I burn every year. That is about 3 cord a year, so this is the start of that. Been hand splitting it little by little. So far I have a little more than 2/3 of a cord and have all the rest of the year to get it done.

Looks like wind and sun is in no shortage. Does the wind blow from the field in the pic?

Yes that is facing west so that is where the wind blows. The rest of the time it is coming from the north west.

I am doing well. I had some back issues for awhile but I am getting over that with some good ole exercise. I kind of slacked off for awhile and got out of shape. You would think with all the cutting, chopping, and stacking of wood and all the other things I do that it would not be an issue but there are certain muscle groups that just do not get used a lot even when doing those things. Looking forward to getting back up into the mountains come summer to get some more lodge pole pine.

I live around 5000 FT. I believe Cheyenne is around 5500. Last year I went to snowy range to cut some wood and it was like 8000 to 9000 FT.

I remember once many moons ago my wife and I went across Wyoming. Cold at night! Then the next day we dropped into the city before heading across the salt flats. We dang near roasted going across there. We did not have air conditioning at that time in our van as where we lived we just did not need it. However, as we traveled more, we soon got a vehicle with air in it!

Your post reminded me of this. It is only a slight exaggeration.

I'm guessing he has lots of cottonwood there.
