I was an early adopter of AWS and at one time I had a store of my own and maintained stores for several others. The ASPCA tried a few games and they ran into folks who knew how to play the legal game I and several others sent *zon after them.

Currans, I forgot that relationship was discussed here last year. Curran lost a warehouse a hour away to a fire one morning. Word on the street was the contents were owned by tractor supply and only the warehouse was owned by Curran. That the contents were a total loss, as in insurance claim. I had posted a picture, and had forgotten all about it until your post.

8 52453 00306 6 equals MWP's (Maine Wood Pellets). That is what I get all season long at my local TSC and they are a good pellet for the price.

Well another pellet to try then. The beast prefers softwood pellets, but having a more local source of a decent pellet in time of need is a good thing. Thanks!

Oh, and despite what they say on the front (Hardwood), they are a HW/SW blend, which is stated on the side of the bag. They will produce more ash than a pure SW but my stoves like them.

We have seen Lignetics from time to time at the big box stores.

    They seem fine.

Best pellets we have ever used were "Heartland" pine pellets.

When we were running our Quad 1000 for the most part and before we installed the Whitfields we would grab whatever was cheap...

The Quad will eat most anything happily, with the only caveat being how much clinker the particular product would leave.

Some companies materials have a lot of dirt and other non combustible junk in them.

    The Heartlands were very clean.

The shells we burn are clean to look at, but they leave a lot of ash and clinkers.

Normally around here we see BEAR MT and GOLDEN FIRE predominantly in the stores.

During the fall and winter we can see all manner of stuff, as many shops will grab whatever will fill up a truck heading this way.

We are finally seeing Winter weather.

Started snowing last night around dusk and snowed off and on all night.

    Not a huge amount...maybe 2-3 inches.
The weather dudes are cautiously looking at the possibility of a big snow event coming in Mon..Tues that could dump a foot or more... ARRRRRRRGH

We were there in October spent a week on the Coast at Olympic National Parks. Beautiful weather 65* no rain for 8 days. Walked the beach twice a day, absolutely loved it! The locals just about assured us that the Seattle area won’t get get snow to speak of. The weather channel says we are getting 12 to 21 inches Tuesday into Wednesday. I’m turning on the fans and sending it north to Ottawa, those Canadians won’t notice any change.;)

Seattle got their butt handed to them yesterday...
We are 25 miles south of Portland and got about 3 inches last night.

We had both stoves going last night and it was 69 F in the house.

With the nice fluff on the roof it 74 F in here this morning...

I'm a big dummy there are a couple of things I can't seem to get to work one is for a metal roof to pay off energy wise in the winter and the other is for pv to be a good deal. Would someone help a poor old Bear see the light?

We drove up from Redwood National Park following the coast to Rt 20 then up I-5. Just thinking of relocating closer to the National Parks, if we still have them. So we were trying to get a sense of the lay of the land out there.

I put a metal roof up for one reason, because of the pitch it won’t need to be replaced in my life time. As for PV I have to pay $300+ for the honor of having National Grid lines to my house, even if I don’t use any of their electric. The on grid rules are made for the interests of big business not for the home owner. We’re headed off the grid.

Took the opportunity to give the P68 a cleaning, including the flue yesterday, on account of we had some really nice mild weather in the 50s in the afternoon. Strictly speaking it didn’t need a full
cleaning yet, but couldn’t pass up the mid-season weather opportunity to get on the roof and clean the flue.
