20 here with the same 40mph wind gusts as Maina , it warmed up nice yesterday so I let the stove die out last evening. Got home from work @ 0600 to find the house at 52 iat. It's now up to 60 and climbing as a mix of wood is cooking up nicely.

8 here, burning coals down, probably load up with red oak. Going to try the new winch out today. I have some sugar maple and hackberry to pull out.

It’s 45F down here tonight, I know that for you guys and girls up north that’s nice and warm but after spending weeks around or above 100F it feels downright cold. It was 65F and windy this afternoon so I lit a small fire in the insert.

That's why I let the stove go out yesterday with temps in the high 40's. Of course we knew it wasn't gonna last.

-22 this morning. The deck and roof was popping last night as the cold set in rather abruptly due to the clear evening/night. I heard that the radio said our YTD snowfall is 110" now.

23° with a wind chill of 10. No pine branches in my yard, yay! I might take a drive and see if there's anything good lying around. I think this is the strongest wind we've had all season. Kitty won't go outside, but we saw one of her boyfriends out back at 3A, tough guy! Burning red maple and oak, same ol'. IMG_20190209_4907.jpg

Is that one that stays all winter or a new one? We don't often see robins here in winter but if conditions are right some will stay. I remember at our community colleges there is an open courtyard with trees and shrubs and we could watch robins all winter long when I was studying there.

For sure that is a big temperature difference. I always welcome that temperature in the late summer or early fall.
