    Its the tree that keeps on giving, i've seen the neighbors pin oak have leaves on it right up to the time the tree starts to bud out. Seems like they never all fall off, lol.

    Only ones I have cut around here are
    Pin
    Chestnut
    Red
    White

    Pin only good for firewood and maybe railroad ties

    Chestnut, Red and White great firewood but also great for making lumber

    Red my favorite wood

    But even just in the white oak family there are many varieties. Also, pin oak is in the red oak family.
