They named 7.3 gasser Godzilla. What I was told is only available in F450 on up. 6.0 from previous post talked to guys at shop , the sob started right up yesterday morning. no water in fuel lamp or check eng lamp. I had them drain the water separator and replace filters anyway. That maybe leaves the FICM as a possible culprit - known issue with those, there one or 2 other points but as a shade tree mechanic they are outside of my tool inventory at present.

Ram recalls More than 660,000 heavy-duty pickups worldwide over possible steering failure that could be linked to eight crashes.
Ram recalls 63,000 trucks in Canada over possible steering failure

Fiat Chrysler is recalling over 660,000 heavy-duty trucks worldwide because a loose nut can cause a loss of steering control.

The recall covers Ram 3500 pickups from 2013 through 2017, as well as 2500 pickups and 3500 Chassis cabs from 2014 through 2017.

The automaker says it’s aware of eight crashes and one injury that could be related.

The company says about 63,000 vehicles in Canada will be subject to the recall, on top of the roughly 574,000 trucks in the U.S., plus some in Mexico and outside North America.

Fiat Chrysler doesn’t have a date yet for owners to be notified. Dealers will inspect a steering linkage nut. If it’s properly tightened, it will be welded to a sleeve to keep it in place. If it’s loose, a steering assembly will be replaced.

The recall comes after the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in December began investigating steering failures on some Ram trucks. The agency opened the probe after getting two complaints from owners that the linkage between the steering box and the front wheels can come apart.

The Ram brand also is recalling nearly 194,000 light-duty trucks in the U.S. because the brake pedals can fall off.

Covered are certain 2019 Ram pickups with adjustable brake pedals. More than one third are still at dealers and will be fixed before they’re delivered. The 2019 Ram Classic is not affected.

Adjustable brake pedals are activated by a switch in the cab and powered by an electric motor. Fiat Chrysler says an investigation found that if people move the pedals to their rear-most position, the brake pedal can detach.

The company says it doesn’t know of any crashes or injuries. It’s urging people not to adjust pedals until the trucks have been fixed and to never adjust pedals while driving.

Fiat Chrysler doesn’t have a date for notifying owners. Dealers will install a fastener and spacer to restrict travel of the pedals and fix the problem.

A big CID push rod gas engine mated to a 10 speed transmission? Sounds like a winner to me!

My friend has one, I drove it, very nice. I would recommend the Aisin tranny. Had a regular one, added a chip, the tranny couldn’t handle it. I like the idea of the new duramax and Allison. Time will tell if it’s worth a damm. The dodge interior is awesome but so is all the others. Get what YOU want. Get what somebody else wants you to get if they pay for it.

engine is bullet proof as you know. 2500's have coils on rear some guys say they feel wobbly towing. Aisin is only available in 3500's. From what I keep track of they have been reliable as long as emission equipment does not screw up, which is common to all brands now. Over on Cumminsforums there are several hot shots pushing 500,000 miles with 68rfe trans still original.

turn it up or modify it beyond its design limits you are on your own.

Yep can't do a lot of tweaking on the latest diesels pretty much at max already . my own little saga - shop drain water seperation unit and replaced fuel filters - no start after wards- reminded them that it also had a small fuel leak they needed to address and prehaps the Ficm circuit had a problem. Nailed that one - IPR leaking and IPC shorting from fuel contamination- course that apx $1000 shot at my wallet for repair 2/3 labor

Yes, I really wanted a 3500 SRW, but they're impossible to find used...New was way more than I wanted to spend.
The one I found was a 2018 with 12,000 miles.
