This critter had to come from my firewood. Help ID

I’ve had 2 or 3 of these beasties make their way into my living space. I know they’ve had to come from my stack in the basement. Seem pretty harmless, aren’t quick movers for sure. I’ve never seen one this big before, and it didn’t fly.
Any idea what it is? I’m wondering if it’s the reason for the little dust piles under my shag-bark hickory splits. I have more of that species than I ever had before & never had this bug before. It’s probably as long as a pinky finger.


I’m thinking powder post beetle but wondering if anyone can confirm.

 

I believe that would be a banded hickory borer

 

Looks right from what a quick search came up with.

 

I always have an abundance of painted hickory borers here when I haul in fresh hickory. Just finished some that they had chomped on.

I think that's a bug.

 

Yep, my wife does as well. She doesn’t like large insects crawling around and several of these made their way upstairs to our living space.

The bug itself doesn't bug me as much as the larvae. It's like it came out of a horror movie.....
