I was out looking for something dry to supplement my not so dry wood that I’m down to and I hit the jackpot. Cut about a 40 ft cedar that was probably about 15 inches at the base and it’s bone dry. Around 14-15%! I dropped the ball on wood this year due to selling a little too much plus a bad back. Here’s to a better 2019!
Nice. I rarely am in a position to harvest red cedar but I came across this one last summer. Im still enjoying it for kindling this winter. It makes for some easy splitting. Ive used western red cedar in the past to heat the house when its abundant as it burns hot! Glad you came across a good find. Your species is very red and pretty. I wouldnt see that with ours out west.
