No smoke once it got warmed up though. Somebody wanted her ball thrown in the snow all day, so I fired up the hand warmer.
I believe it is also an option to build a home around one’s wood stove.... most of us just do it the other way...
Very disappointed in this stove. I don't know what square footage it's rated for, but it barely heats 40 square feet of my yard.
You might check and see about there return policy? How long have you had it? What percentage of moisture does your wood have? Make sure you use a fresh split when checking... Hopefully that helps...
OK, now the fun begins! First, over analyze everything about it. Size, height, configuration of chimney would be a great start. Then, consider the wood's MC but don't do anything about it. After that, start picking apart the stove's design and list all the things that should've/could've been done with it. Finally, after months of possible over firing, begin to notice how the door itself doesn't quite operate up to par. Then, take all this info to the manufacturer....even though you never registered it for warranty purposes......and keep up the constant b!tching and whining about such a sub-standard product until you finally get some reprieve. Seems to work!
See, this was my first thought as well. Check your gaskets. Are you using Pine or Oak? You might need to consider not only square footage, but cubic footage also. How high is the sky?
