Took me 9 years of points to get that bear tag in my home state. Hunted for 5 days and never seen a bear until the last 2hours of my hunt. My buddy does taxidermy and wanted to try a bear mount so he gave me a great deal on the half mount and did an outstanding job.

My Husband waited his 9 years and then chose to use muzzle loader. It misfired and he missed a big bear. Now we wait again. Next time, no muzzle loader :)

Oh no! That stinks. I feel for him, it's a long time to wait for a tag. My bear wasn't very big 276lbs but after 5 days of not seeing a bear on a nine year tag I wasn't going to be picky. Bear meat is fantastic wish I could get one every year.

It can be really greasy. The time I had some they slow cooked it for around 12hrs then put it on the grill. Turned out pretty good.

Here you just buy your bear tag. But we dont have many bears. 99% of the ones killed are with dog parties. And usually most bears are killed by just a half dozen of the exp guys. I know a few guys that belong to each of someof the better parties. I this k a party can kill 5?? Even for me it would be hard to get in a party as iI am not "from there" I did not grow up in tje moutaions and am thus an "outsider" and they are skeptical of outsiders. Would love to go though. They usually let the new guy kill one of the bears as well

Great pics, couple of studs Whitetails in there. Do you hunt with a bow or gun mostly?
