You can probably park a truck across the road. Neighbor has a big shop over there and they have a lot of trucks parked there. I can ask him if you would be bringing a truck
See what happens. It's not a really big truck, but a day cab tractor and 48' trailer. I get around in some pretty tight spots. As long as I can get there and park it legally, I can stop in for an hour or two. I have to log a 30 minute break somewhere, anyway.
I ain't exactly close but if needed, I could load mine up. I was planning on bringing the truck anyways. Would be nicer to run with the bed covered tho.
Mine is coming on my trailer 100%, and I'm sure that someone else could bring one. Jeff-T, Even if you had to park somewhere down the road, I would gladly come pick you up. But it not only sounds, but looks accommodating for your truck at Swags. There is a "Truck" repair shop right down the road (according to Google Maps)
Unfortunately, that "Wood General" I bought off my sister has been giving me trouble since I brought it home. During the cold winter, I could not pull it over fast enough to get that 8 hp Tecumseh running (cold thick fluid, bypass not working right-?). When I could get it to fire on some warmer days (still having to squirt some gas in the cylinder) it didn't run good. I disassembled the carb to rebuild it but it looked so bad I just bought an Oregon replacement carb for it. I managed to get it running a couple times and it ran nice, then started giving me trouble again. Does not seem to be getting gas. I have not fooled with it since to figure what's wrong, just went back to using my monster maul the rest of the winter. I'll get back on it to see if I can get her running steady, but you better play it safe and make other plans. Of course I'll be happy to bring the Monster for you guys to play with!!!
there is a few businesses right down the road and my mechanic is less then a 1/4 mile away. There is plenty of places to park a truck within walking distance so you will be fine.
Does anyone thats coming have an Alaskan mill? I was planning on buying one but now have found a friend of a friend that has a sawmill fairly local so I probably wont be buying one but it would be nice to have one here at the G2G
Talking chainsaws today in the barn out of the rain I was told about this gtg. I'm not seeing a date set or where yet? My time is very few free right now but never know if it is right date and location close by.
Who was you talking get to? Did you make it to Tbone (Johns) GTG? I would have loved to have made that one this past weekend. The GTG is listed in the Chainsaw Forum and the Everything Else Forum. There is a Poll (they are Sticky's) in each of those respective Forums. Would love to have you. It's not to far of a drive
Called for the pig today for the pig roast on Saturday night. I'm probably going to end up getting a 50lb pig, that would be enough to feed 40-50 people, butcher doesn't do many pigs smaller. We wont have that many people but extra pork is always good. And some of you might eat more then expected. I will be injecting the pig with hickory syrup! Very excited to try that as I've been wanting to do that. There will also be a lunch/drink stand there during the day with sandwiches, snacks, and drinks. If anyone wants to bring a dish to make for the dinner you are welcome to. Outhouse is ordered for the weekend as well. Things look like they are coming together.
@ Dex No didnt go to Tbones. I have been going to GTG's and Racing events since 05-06 and winding down on them. Time is short for me and I choose to spend it very very wisely right now. Will just have to see if my son is still in the sectional HS playoffs that Sat. Last fall I have been attending the Poulan GTG and for at least the past 3 years in fall and hitting the spring GTG's at Bills south of Columbus. I used to put on Racing GTG's for guys to learn that stuff 08-09. Near Hayesville Oh was talking with Jim. The racing portion of my gtg's when we were not cutting on the big rounds set about.
I'll hire you to work on something for me, then you'll be able to deduct the trip as business expenses................ win win .
