The author is unknown. It was found in the billfold of Coach Paul Bear Bryant, Alabama, after he died in 1982. Imagine that you had won the following *PRIZE* in a contest: Each morning your bank would deposit $86,400 into your private account for your use. This prize has rules, however. The Set of Rules: 1. Everything that you didn't spend during each day would be taken away from you. 2. You may not simply transfer money into some other account. 3. You may only spend It. 4. Each morning, upon your awaking, the bank opens your account with another $86,400 for that day. 5. The bank can end the game, without warning, at any time. It can say, "Game Over!" and close the account and you will not receive a new one. What would you personally do? You would buy anything and everything you wanted, right? Not only for yourself, but for all the people you love and care for. Even for people you don't know, because you couldn't possibly spend it all on yourself, right? You would try to spend every penny, and use it all, because you knew it would be replenished in the morning, right? ACTUALLY, this 'GAME' is real. Shocked ??? YES! Each of us is already a winner of this *PRIZE*....we just can't seem to see it. The PRIZE is *TIME* 1. Each morning, upon waking, we receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of Life. 2. And when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is not credited to us. 3. What we haven't used up that day is forever lost. 4. Yesterday is gone forever. 5. Each morning the account is refilled, but the bank can dissolve your account at any time without warning... So, what will YOU do with your 86,400 seconds? Those seconds are worth so much more than the same amount in dollars. Think about it and remember to enjoy every second of your life, because time races by so much quicker than you think. So take care of yourself, be happy, love deeply and enjoy life! Here's wishing you a wonderful and beautiful day. Start spending.... "DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT GROWING OLD...!" SOME PEOPLE DON'T GET THE PRIVILEGE!
That’s an awesome post rottiman , so many of us have more miles behind us than ahead. I’m trying to adjust my attitude. What is really worth getting mad at? I want to enjoy every minute of every day. That’s what’s so nice about this site, mostly good vibes!
What a cool concept rottiman ... thanks for that! Like Jack, I'm in the attitude adjustment mode too. Constant work in progress...
Yes Lads, I too, am trying to do the attitude adjustment as well. My problem is that as I age, the direction this society is headed in is conflicting with my era. I am learning to bite my tongue while having to listen to sniveling, whining dip chits who preach that I have to conform to their nonsense, and if I don't, I'm the problem. That's the conflict,.......I cannot, and do not, and will not want to become a part of their "dummified sheeple" society. ........and yes, this site IS a breath of fresh air !!!!
Good reminder, most times in our day the only thing we can change is our attitude. Just heard someone on the radio talking about rephrasing from I have to go to work to I get to go to work.
Well said... I'm always yappin to my honey about social media's harm to all things considered common sense, not too many years ago. I hope for a revolution of humans finally deciding to check out on all tech stuff, and getting back to talking to each other again. Not holding my breath, sad to admit.
I"m with you on this reply!! My wife and i were just discussing this the other day, NO ONE talk's to each other, its all texting. I do not even have a cell phone, lol. (dog collar) wife does, but, its basically for emergency's if they arise. The media continues to stir the pot and be negative. It's sad to see the degradation of basic communication, and good old family values. Me, i'll just keep cutting wood, heading up in the hills and enjoying God's work, NO ONE can compare, or compete with him!
At least here. One of the reasons I appreciate this site and it's members, we keep it civil. Nothing wrong with being a grumpy old fart when the situation requires it, too much nonsense being displayed in the real world to avoid speaking out on occasion.
