    Got my mountain of splits stacked today. Wanted to see how tall I could make a cube.

    12'x5'x8' = 3.75 cord

    It's actually super stable. I even climbed up on top of it.

    This is 2015/2016 wood.

    I will top cover, but I was beat after stacking it all. I saved a nice tarp off a bunk of 16' cedar 1x. That should cover it nicely and last hopefully.

    That was a lot of work to stack that high even when standing in the trailer. I figured that since I'll be looking at it for a couple years, I'd make it a conversation piece.

    Cool. I went up a little less than 7' with a cube but found that it became pretty unstable as the wood dried. Part of that was because some of the wood had a spiral twist to the grain. I hope that yours remains stable. Looks like you have some mill slabs in there, that ought to help.

    This is super stable. The slabs work great. Nice even, tight cribbing. I couldn't push it over if I wanted to. I put 4 - 2x4's across at about half way and stacked them into all three rows.

    Hopefully it'll stay that way. I'll let ya know!

    It would take a tall person to steal your wood. Nice job!

    That's awesome, Pyro! I like the use of vertical space. When I build my woodshed, I plan on making it at LEAST 8' tall inside. I'll be able to store twice the amount of wood in the same amount of space......

    It's ok pyro lol that's a lot of hauling and not really worth multiple loads. Now if you could get it in one or two load I'd still trade :rofl: :lol::thumbs:

    I could get another 4' on there if I had a lift, or a lot more energy.

    Does anybody else do this, or is competitive stacking something else I need to discuss in the support group?

    Nah, just a new form of Jenga. How much can you pull out before it collapses?
