Well, after a couple of months of looking for used trucks and/or repairing the frame on my 2007 Chevy truck, I finally settled on a certified pre-owned (lease return) 2016 RAM 1500 with the 5.7 L Hemi V8. It's actually a nice little upgrade. I'll have to see how I like the Quad Cab w/ 6'4" box vs. the former Regular Cab with 8' box. I already love the power windows and power locks.

I'll definitely be looking into rust protection for this one.

nice, you will never go back to a regular cab and the next one will be a crew cab with an 8 foot bed. 6 foot works but you will miss the 8 foot

Lol....when I read that again now that you pointed that out....  does sort of sound like "better than nothing". I really was glad to see he found something as I had tried to locate a frame for him.

Hey it was hard for a loyal Ford man and it's a Dodge, can't be too nice now.....:p

I'd need a new garage or carport. The current car port fits this one just right as it is.

Nice looking truck Mike. Like the color. I also have only had trucks with a 8ft box. Seems like there is not as many on the road now.

It should look very nice with my University of Michigan license plate frame The Wood Wolverine
Thanks again for your help. In the end, dealers were offering me $6-8K (after negotiating a cash price first) trade in for it even with the junk frame and unable to pass inspection, and as you know, in PA the trade-in comes off of the taxable purchase price so that's a double dip for me. As for the RAM vs. Chevy vs. Ford vs. Toyota..., there was no way I was going to buy another Chevy, the Fords were nice much more expensive, even used +/- CPO and I couldn't find a Toyota that I liked. The RAM hit the sweet spot with the price, CPO warantee, and being in stock. I think with some TLC, this should last me another 10+ years. I only put 3-5K miles on my truck per year.
