I just got a FedEx delivery at home, but it was about 2 hours later than when they normally show up.

Pulled some wood down off the pile and placed next to the OWB. That way, I don't have to retrieve it during the dark and windy cold. Should be enough to last through Fri or Sat morning.

Whew! I don't remember those chunks being that large this past summer!

Yup! Actually, it is a lot brisk!

I was outside for only 10 min and glad to get back down to the basement by the kicker stove!

I almost feel guilty posting this as you blokes up there are suffering through the polar vortex, but I have finally got a reprieve from the heatwave.

Well that's no fun. Couldn't pick a more pleasant illness? :)

    Get rest and get better.

Drove to the big city today through a bunch of blowing snow. I would not say a total whiteout but not too far from it in spots. The high temperature of the day was -4.

Wife stayed home to make sure the house stayed warm. Ha! It was down to 77 in here when I got home. It's back up to 79 now.

I got my flat tire fixed. Jacked the car up, took the wheel off and took it in. $23 later it's fixed.
Here's the offending screw. No idea where this came from, but it could've been from anywhere.
    20190130_151934.jpg

While I was waiting for the tire to get patched, I went home and brought a couple of days worth of wood. Then I noticed the front passenger side tire on the 4runner was low on air too. I filled that up as well.

It's ridiculous out there. You have to have every bit of skin covered.

And if you have to pee, perhaps it is best to go indoors.

    Good job:)

What is the pink string along one of the tread?

PS, I remember having to ask for help at a couple different tire shops in stupid cold while I was still working. The cold made the tires look like going low and all the compressors at the gas stations were too weanie and cold to do anything. And that was really cold for Colorado! (before we moved here).

That's a dye, or marking on new tires that wears off. Yeah, that's how new these tires are before I got a puncture. The first flat I get in 15 years if you count one my wife got on her 4runner, and it's on NEW Freaking TIRES..

Yes. I try to keep it that way. Once in a while when I let the boys out to do their thing, i have to go bad and pee as well. A peeing party if you will.

There's too many layers on now to even think about that right now.;)

Don't feel to bad Horkn I had the same thing happen a couple months ago. Tire picked up a screw just like yours. Only had 8000miles on the tire. Life happens after you make plans:loco:

Oh no! Take it easy and do exactly as the doctor said. Don’t mess around with pneumonia.

I’m finally getting recovered from the cough from the flu and the Zpak antibiotics were to also work if it had started to turn to pneumonia. Thankfully, it all seems to have worked out. Take good care wildwest and get to the ER if things start going sideways. BTW, how’s WWW doing?

We’re down to 2° right now and the stove is cranking with a load of mulberry. I feel for you guys out west with those record cold temps. It’s not too often we go more than 10° below zero here. I’ve been in -50° windchill and had my thumb freeze. Almost had frostbite. It hurt like hell when it came back to life, so I can just imagine how bad it is with you all. Stay warm and keep the fires lit .
