The cold snap of 2019

With all the talk and prediction that this is the cold snap of a generation and we may break records, what are they predicting for you and where are you?

 

Wow, now that is some cold Greenstick .............Wed and Thurs calling for single digit low's!!

 

Looks a little chilly at 8:00 but other than that not bad.

Nothing like that here. -3F but -30ish with wind chill figured in.

Worst their showing for our are part of Southwestern NY is -10°F overnight on Wednesday.

We dont often get below zero here in the eastern Appalachian mountains.
Calling for next 2 nights to get -6 and -1.
Not record cold but close enough.
If i gotta go out, I'll probably need a coat and hat.

 

Should be better here by Saturday.
Forecast is 29. We'll see.

How much snow you got on the ground up there ? Only 6 inches here

 

After this last bit, close to a foot.

Is that what your weather app advised?

 

When I was working, I would head out in -40f and then combine the wind for even colder temps. Not fit for work in unheated spaces and I really don't have a reason why I didn't tell the boss "No". Something like that would never happen now!

Wind chill is supposed to be -45 to -60 with a real temp of -30 So what.

I think Greenstick is winning the brutal cold hands down this go-round...

 

I find it interesting, how different locations have different words for the same temperatures. ReelFaster Has a 42 degree high as not as cold.. Here that would be a warm spring day!!
