We've officially been told there are no deliveries or pickups for shipment at work. That will be interesting when my crap from Japan was supposed to arrive before it shut another jaoanJap manufacturers line down. It rhymes with Wanda. :hair::picard: . Not much we can do about that.

But,but, but, why won't you risk your equipment & drivers for my delivery that probably won't change my life in any meaningful way anyway. Sheesh!

That reminds me of when I worked for a German company, at their US HQ. All of our top brass were German. I heard all this yelling and nastiness about deliveries being delayed due to hurricane Sandy. I'm sorry but you being po'd about not being able to get shipments due to there being no docks in new York and zero chance due to customs being closed isn't going to do anything to get the shipment sooner.

I wanted to laugh in his face, but knew I'd probably gotten in trouble at best had I done so.

According to reports, 8.5-9" here. It's snowing hard now. I have no doubt that we'll get a foot.

Looks like we got around 7-8 inches of snow. Snow is tapering off now and I can see the sun thru the thin clouds. Radar shows the end of the storm almost here. Those on the eastern side of WI will see snow for a little longer. Snow plows have my road opened up but I may wait until after lunch to clear my driveway. That is one of the perks of being retired:BrianK::rootintootin:

Drifting isn't much of a problem for us because we are sheltered from most of the north and west winds. With the cold temps coming the next couple of days:shiver: stay safe and warm.

So much better than the "Threat Tracker", and in so many ways!

They're predicting 1-3" for us here in WNC. Will probably shut the world down for the rest of the week.

Wasn't bad on the lake this morning. Beautiful sunshine now. Drove through a few 15" to 20" drifts, but was able go right through them at about 20 mph. When I left the darkhouse at 11 AM my old tracks were totally blow over. Picked a new route until I hit an ice road plowed by one of the fisher folk from one of the overnight permanents after a mile or so of breaking trail. If my pictures look halfway decent I will try and put something up later on today. Now a shower and maybe a nap. Then fire up the hearth and browse FHC threads with a few beers!!

Spent the morning on the phone telling our shops we would get to them when we can. Sometimes you get so far behind that you don't even worry about it!
Pulled the trucks off the road for tomorrow and if it gets brutal cold and windy Wednesday I will pull them off then also. Just not worth it to risk.

Snow almost done here. The end of it is about 12 miles west of us. I've already shoved the snow around; probably not more than an inch after I plowed. A far cry from what was forecast as I shoved around about 4". Tis okay with me.

What really surprised me was how easy those snowbanks moved. When I made those last week it was so wet and was raining at the time. I figured it would be like a rock but it moved easy so I did not need to fire up the tractor. Atv did it well.

Also, the surprising thing to me was how the storm changed directions. I was looking at the radar from around midnight until 2:00 and it was looking lke a small storm and moving to the SE which could have taken it right south of us. However, this morning it was going to the NE. Strange... Still, nothing like was predicted. Said we could get up to a foot. Well, 33% I guess isn't too far off...in their book.

Weather guesser just said 1-3 for tomorrow . That shouldn't put a damper on cutting later this week with bear 1998. Gonna be cold but we won't be more than 10 minutes from the shop with some dry locust and hickory keeping the shop warm. :coldfire:

A few pictures from this morning after "snowmageddon." ...only 4" here, but it was drifted in pretty deep in spots on the wide open lake, but I have driven through a lot lot worse!

Now are battening down the hatches in front of the fire for "coldmageddon." :jaw:

You are right. My wife is a teacher and was off today! She was surprised to say the least.

Well, they were pretty close. Got about 10" now it's raining. Just in from plowing. Cold's coming & it'll be slick. Snow's fine, ice, not so much.

No idea how much snow we got here. If I had to guess, 6 inches or so. The wind has blowing been a steady 20 out of the east or so all day. They talked about lake enhancement off Lake Huron and they were right. The closest land to the east of me is somewhere on Manitoulin Island, Canada and the wind hasn’t backed off all day.

This was the view from the truck when I plowed tonight. The drift was every bit of 3 feet of dense packed snow. I’ve had pretty good luck with the Snow Sport plow, but it nearly met its match tonight. Last I checked a bit ago the drift by my wife’s car was about 3/4 as high as her car. It’s still snowing and blowing.

I think I may see a tractor with a blade and a bucket in my future....
