I believe the pellets were from Home Depot and are left over from last year. This is the last of those soI will be picking up a few more bags today. There wasn't any moisture on the hopper cover.

    Rev I, Serial#2483, Certified 12/06, W/N#14149.

I believe the burn pot frame is the original, a one piece base (deep v), seperate pusher assembly, burn pot, re-light plate and rectangular ramp. It also has the original control panel.

It ran all night but had quite a bit of black soot build up on the glass.

Based on serial number (in sig) how can I go about finding all the available upgrades Fahrenheit sells for my 50F?

Give them a call# 616-392-7410 , Matt or Marc! You might also be able to get a free control board upgrade.

Is there an online store for parts? Seems like all the "dealers" in WI either don't carry parts anymore or need to order them. I'd like to just select what I need and pay online.

I think I need a better understand of "pellets back up in chute and fall all at once"...if all your auger blades are intact I'm not sure how this happens as the chute is very steep...ok...I think I know what's going on...since you mentioned a missing rivet, I'm guessing there is a gap that the pellets are getting hung up on (there is a chute cover and it may be away from the back wall on the bottom causing some pellets to get hung up and then back up until there are too many and they just fall)...if that's the case then I think that's an easy fix cause from the pic your flame looks ok to me...

Thanks Maximus. Unfortunately I am headed back to Florida today so I won't be able to pursue the issue.

The pellets were actually being pushed down the chute. They weren't hanging up at the bottom. I also noticed as the hopper got low that these pellets were not sliding down in the hopper. I'm pretty sure the pellets are the culprit so I emptied the hopper and auger and will try new pellets down the road. That will be up to my daughter. Again, thanks for the assist.

I would get your daughter or SIL to post and we can troubleshoot together.
    Just one!

I guess I'm confused by your statement...the 50F's auger moves pellets up under the hopper and they fall down the chute and into the burn pot...they get pushed up...and fall down...the mere fact that those pellets are stacking up in the fall chute would be a major fire hazard concern for me and I personally wouldn't suggest using it until it's resolved...personally...

Clarification: as the hopper empties the pellets kind of cling to the walls of the hopper instead of sliding into the auger. My daughter told me that the pellets had already cycled through the stove twice before when the burn pot would overfill. I'm sure the pellets were tainted with sooty ash when she dumped them back into the hopper. Before I left I cleaned the walls of the hopper so I'm sure the new peletts won't have

Answer me this, are you suppose to be able to pick the auger up and slap it all around its enclosure? I did that when I cleaned out the hopper and vac'd out the auger. I'm not sure if the brass bearing is shot. I don't remember it being that loose. It also squeals intermittently.

There's some movement, it could be some wear as I noticed it on my older furnace which ran fine. I haven't taken my newer unit apart to verify but I will let the hopper go empty in the next few days and I'll check. That brass bushing could use a drop or two of oil to lubricate it periodically to help it from wearing out and cause excessive fines slipping through and dropping just in front of the auger motor. What choices of pellets in your area?

More likely than not your brass bearing is shot (you can also tell by peeking inside the unit and see if there are fines all around were the auger enters the bin)...the design is poor...the auger is large and heavy and there should have been a support bearing designed into the front (top of chute)...I've contemplated a mod, but there's no practical way to get in there...

You can get more out of the 50F...and pretty cheaply...It's all about heat transfer...
