Looking to ckean out the stack today and Im afraid of the roof... How do I take out a section? Link to video below. Sent from my LG-H918 using Tapatalk
Maybe its got alot of rust and build up preventing me but it looks like the stove needs to be moved and pivoted if anything but that doesnt seem fun. Sent from my LG-H918 using Tapatalk
Nope, probably not much fun. Looks like the pipe needs to be changed out. I see rust at the joints. I agree with Chvymn99 , make at least one piece a slip pipe (it could be a 12" section=less expensive). MUCH easier to pull apart when needed. What stove is that? Oh yeah, welcome aboard.
Pipe out moved stove. Do I need to replace? If yes what do you recommend and from where? No clue what stove... Maybe you can tell me Sent from my LG-H918 using Tapatalk
X2 .... 3 joints of single wall ain’t gonna break the bank. They look to be the slip joint ones, also. I’d probably get the full rolled ones to replace. Plus think about it as a safety maneuver.
No problem replacing but does someone mind linking to what you recommend? Also should I get a damper one or one with an electric fan? Sent from my LG-H918 using Tapatalk

Not cheap but stainless single wall if you can find it. I use to have to replace the black pipe more than I liked.
A damper is your choice. How does the stove normally burn? You could put one in, and use or not depending on conditions. They're cheap.
Tractor Supply Company has pipe! If you have an air adjustment on your stove "I" wouldn't run a damper. If I had a better pic of your stove I would almost think that was a Fisher "odd ball". Is there a name in the lower right corner of your stove door?
From what i see, and other comments you should replace the pipe, no doubt about it. I've seen stove pipe that looked just like that, and when you got a good fire going in it, you could almost see the flames going up the pipe. Scary to say the least. Don't forget the screws, at the joints. Betting that stove draws really well with that much pipe, i'd lean toward the stainless, it will outlast the black pipe. Just my 2 cents worth.

I’m not sure of the price, but the pipe I bought from Woodstock Soapstone years ago is a heavier gauge than typical hardware store types, and also has welded seams instead of the “pop together” kind. A local fireman said he’s seen seams pop open during a chimney fire.
