How big of house ? What's house running temp ? $180 is about what I pay for wood . Let's hear the details 16.3f burning slabs .. I know electric bills down under can get out of hand pretty easy . I don't know how you deal with the hot summers. I see some pretty crazy temps . Sent from my LGL84VL using Tapatalk
It’s an old house built by my grandfather, it is medium size by modern standards. I like the heat at 75F in winter using wood heat only, I have 2 inbuilt stoves but usually only burn one of them at any one time, I can and have had both going at once when the house is really cold. As for the hot summers, well it’s a dry heat it’s still 92F and 17% humidity at 9:20pm down here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
46° now, raining and blowing. Supposed to get to 56° today. I got the storm drain shoveled out yesterday. That should help prevent a lot of water in our driveway. I'm still driving my husband to work, but he's planning to get a rental this afternoon. Nothing has happened with the claim pending the insurance companies getting the police report. It's not really a hardship for us. The other driver is disputing that it was her fault, but pictures and the police report should put that to rest. We saw the possum in the back yard at 4A, eating some ham I left out! Sorry, no pics.
I got stuck in Colebrook a couple different times when the river flooded, one time for 3 days lol. That’s an adventure! It happens fast up that way. Thankfully the restaurants and bars were well stocked.
38 and supposed to be hitting 50 today before it plunges back down below freezing tonight. 76 inside and a great afternoon to let the fire die down enough to clean the cat. Flood watches have been posted for the county.
43* n risin...70* is...ash a flamin. I look for around 50* today...its a rainin pretty good at the moment..all ....almost forgot..fog is thicker than pea soup..
That wasn't no Possum, check your eyes girl, I thought you left that ham for me. I love me some ham. Thankfully you didn't get any pics.
Negative for 2 weeks than 38 and rain before going negative again.. This equals ice.. Ice is more slippery with water on it. Ice at 10 below has traction. House is 73 burning dry wood.. I think pine and poplar
Didn't reload before bed last night and let the stove burn out. Woke up to 55* outside .........68* inside.......giving the stove a break today, will clean out some ash after work before firing her back up for TN as temps are headed way down again. This weather is nuts......
A nice morning, be safe with all that crazy weather y’all are getting. Might be cold here but it’s steady. And we’re up two hours of daylight from winter solstice.
Was 40 F this morning. Pine burning. Starting to go down slowly. About 37 now. I’ve been back dragging with the M59 and spreading rock salt, trying to break up the ice before the rain turns to snow. Ice everywhere from all the melting.
Good morning all. We are -15c/5f under clear skies. The stove is loaded with lodgepole pine. Im loving some sun today! I love how bright it is with the snow.
melt, freeze, melt, freeze is frustrating to deal with. I feel for you. When we get that kind of weather I have to keep the ice away from my garage or melt water starts to seep in.
It is amazing just how much warmer it can get down there. But then, many times you even get colder than us. We thank the Great Lakes for moderating our temperatures a bit more.
My wife is curious if you were born and raised there or are you a transplant. That has to be difficult living in that temperature. I'm also wondering if this is a low humidity area like we find in Arizona and that area. We remember being in 109 and it was not comfortable even in the dry heat.
