3° here this AM. I reloaded the stove with oak and locust during the night, so it's nice and toasty inside. I wasn't able to empty the ash tray, but I'll let it burn out tonight.
Today I'll go outside! Maybe some snow/ice/whatisthissh** removal. There is a layer on the driveway and walkway that's like masonite.

19 outside and 75 inside, lab pups woke us up at 5:45, went outside ate a little and they're now sleeping. Shop stove was almost burned out but trying to get it going with what coals were remaining. I burned hickory in the house last night and had more than enough coals and reloaded with sugar.

5 feels like -12. Was -5 and -30 when I went to bed. Reloaded at 2:30 am, got down to 75 in the stove room. Warming up to 20 today and the wind is slowing down so things are looking up. The Kubota will come in handy for scraping up that layer of hard pan that drifted in before it turns to slush then freezes again later this week. Must be our January thaw.

I've been keeping a close eye on your numbers Molly! Also, I have Winchesters weather app plugged in my phone. My Cousin's place is in Hudson so we get weather info from her as well. Good thing I have 7 Fishers to bring up with me when building starts!

Na, I am bringing 3 though. I have a special Bicentennial edition Grandma that will go in the house, I have an XL that will go in the garage and I have a Mama bear that will go in my work shop. The XL will be in the garage because it'll heat 3000 sqft easy and the garage will be where all the water and utilities come into the house. If all goes according to plans, the house will sit on top of the garage, and that stove weighs 575 lbs all by itself! o_O It's gonna keep things warm down there. :MM:;) All the rest will be sold off... :(

You'd get more money for them in NH than in NJ, I can tell you that.

Pleasant temp surprise this morning, wind is bringing a heat index instead of wind chill. Don’t recall ever seeing that one in winter. Maybe it’s the warmth from the full moon. D959D3F5-A821-4064-A2D6-2CCBE878B81E.png CB54CEA2-E42E-4894-8446-31D3464E735B.png

We have some weird weather the next couple days. Temp is supposed to rise from now until 3AM where it tops out at 43, then fall back into the 10's by tomorrow night. Single digits again later in the week.

Down to 20? You'd best be getting busy down there!

No. The temperature is still 0, not -9. The -9 is to make you feel better that it is colder...

It's because the wolf is chasing that full moon maybe.
