I'm happy to report that the G supreme's NE blend are doing fine it's 6* out and a very nice 76 in both the Man Cave and upstairs . Less ash than the AWF hard's I burned this season . Your mileage may vary , bottom line I'll buy more .
MWP blend still doing the job here too. Gonna set on these sets as long as possible. Maybe -20*F they may be required, But dandy so far!!
I have a ton of super premium doug firs in the basement and literally never thought to try a few bags out in this deep freeze. what was I thinking...... Perfect weather to try out the Firs..single digit overnite temps here. prob because the EZBlaze Softies we're doing a good job of heat blasting these past few nights.. I sort of re-discovered using stove[constant mode] on the Harmy...
Been running this mix the last 3 days , bag of Matra's bag of Logik-e and a bag of NW firs or Northern Max to prevent the funneling and crank out some heat during the cold snap . P43 been mixing some T&D with Doug Fir or changing to the Okie craps with some warm weather coming .
Was burning straight up Logik-E but 2 nights when i got home from work the stove was going out ..... They burn wicked hot and very clean but the pellet size is so small that they burn fast , really fast . Got down to the MWP for the cellar stove so been burning them all week but they are just about gone so back to the Okie's after they are gone. Went back to the Mix in the P68
Been burning shoulder bags for the better part of 2 weeks now it's been mostly above average temperatures at night down here in the swamp of southeastern Massachusetts....saving the good stuff for next season I guess unless March is cold down here time will tell
Just started Maine Woods softwood and it’s crazy the amount of ash from only a few bags. Burns really quick too, double the rate compared to below. Burn pot cakes up bad now. Probably won’t buy again. Started my pellet journey this fall with the best my local store had, northern warmth Douglas fir, top dollar but burned super hot and almost no ash and the burn pot was generally clear. Will buy again.
Havnt burned the MWP softie in many years bit I dont remember them being that ashy? Just stick with the mix and you should be fine. This years Crabbe are more ashy than last few.......maybe its a wood source thing
Was thinking the same thing. I haven’t burned a lot of MWP Softies but the few batches I have burned have been great, no issues with ash. Also very find of the traditional MWP blend as well. Perhaps consider giving those a shot.
I burned a ton of the softies this year. But I think they were past years stock. Pretty low ash that was on the darker side.
