    ;)

Last weekend was a big sky weekend :)
Around 12F and not much wind so off to the woods we went !
Fired up the MF135 and hitched a free trailer that we redecked then headed to a pile wehad winched and stacked last winter .

We had time for another load so we took down some dead standing within carryout distance .

We got that all hauled to to the pit where we store our wood for next year or even later's burning .
This Saturday was another big sky day , again around 12F :)

This time we only had a few hours so we spotted some dead tops within carry distance so we opted for that

    The pile has grown :)
No blackflies , skeeters , snakes or drop bears were seen for miles :)

I have a key to the gate :)
The nice thing about the temps being around 20F and colder a fella is actually drier , snow doesn't melt on your glover or mittens . I find that when the temps are damp and 35F or snowing and 27F be the worst .

And only 2 of us that have permission actively cut on this large plot of land .
A hurricane blew through here years ago , it was mostly clearcut and then a forest fire so the picking are not super great but we can cut all the dead tops/standing and blowdowns so we've got plenty for 3 families :)
I love windstorms and porcupines lol

That is beautiful. It reminds me of Michigan's upper peninsula! How is the deer herd there?

Most of us on FHC are living the dream. I like me some frozen ground and snow to keep the wood clean.
