What do you do to distract yourself when it is below zero and the wind chill is brutal enough to make outside not last long?

I built firestarters out in the garage yesterday. Set for another year, both heating and campfire. 240 is where I ran out of noodles to mix in the wax. I really like the egg carton fire starters. 20190120_152448.jpg 20190120_152343.jpg

I'm going on a cruise in a couple weeks. That should help some.

When I do the egg carton deal, they just get stacked. Right now, I have one on the bottom as a base for another half on top. I'm a bit behind on those little buggers. :picard:
Hard to find the cardboard egg cartons, although I can buy 'em at Family Farm and Home for $1.49/each. :hair:

    Same here.
More shop time less run time in prep for our busy season.
Most all purchasing is done Dec/Jan for business and household. Fabricating, equipment prep, house maintenance , etc all gets done in winter.
We hit a bunch of hockey games and winter festivals , take some weekend getaways, watch movies, socialize with friends etc.
Our busy season is running into winter this year. I'm not completely ready for winter but it is what it is. Maybe this big drop in temp will slow things down to normal pace for this time of year.

Luckily our livestock place has cardboard egg cartons for $.50 and I have the local used store save the ugly half used candles they get for me. The only reason they get broke up and canned is so they can go up to the camper and not be messy so I stay out of trouble.

I walk the woods and mark trees and drop trees for the spring. I bought some good clothing so I am good for about 3-4 hours before I get cold. Luckily I cut on my property so I go in and warm up by the wood furnace and eat and go back out. Spoiled to some degree, but still got good clothing nonetheless.

It seldom gets below the 20s here and they talk it up in the news if it even freezes. On the really nasty days with tons of rain, I head to the reloading room and make ammo.

I hooked up the wii game system I bought back when. 2000's something, I'm sure.

So now the two of us will become proficient at golf, bowling, tennis, baseball!

Just make different things or modify stuff I have. 20180412_141045.jpg 20190112_170149.jpg 20190120_061936.jpg don't laugh at my hunting shirt I'm making. Its warm and I'm way beyond the point of caring how I look.
