Well, we had to sweep some snow off porch. No shovel required. :D

The snow storm snow seems to be over, now we have the lake effect snow coming for the next couple of days. Roads were bad last night and this morning but fine now at least until the wind picks up. For Western NY, a foot or two of snow is a minor inconvenience. Armageddon would take several more feet...or an ice storm.

yes indeed, we need to look out for each other. Lucky for me, my son and his family live upstairs in my raised ranch. He works for himself. I can depend on him being around during bad weather. He does the snow removal and keep track of the generators.
Wind is here in burst. all very unpredictable. I have three 5 gallon buckets of drinkable water. Several bottles of water, charged up my battery packs, emergency radio, lights etc. big supply of batteries. enough food for a month or more. I can't risk stepping outside until everything is all calmed down and cleaned up. otherwise, I would just create more work for someone else.

6 inches of snow, and inch or two of sleet, yawn.
We were one of the few churches in town to have service, mostly because my people can all walk to church, and the one who drove in is a plow driver anyway.

    Another overhyped, forgettable storm

Just went out to clean the deck off and blow in front of garage doors and a path to the back of the door. Some places bare ground and some places 2 feet. I'll wait until late tonight to fire up the tractor and plow the driveway, that ought to be fun in this wind and cold today .

Amazing the delta in temps. You can’t be 70 or 80 miles from me.
It was 20 F at 6:00 and it dropped to about 18.5 mid morning and has been there since.
Blowing flurries now and the radar shows about 15minutes left before all my precip is done, unless something else develops to fill in the pink blotches.
We had maybe 5 minutes that some rain mixed in with the sleet. So nice ice!
Famous last words, but I’m about to declare victory!

Just about 6" snow, 2" of sleet. Storm is wrapping up and we had really no rain which was great. I had to go out for a few hours for work. No one on the roads. Just a few pics. No visibility across the river valley beyond the trees.

Interstate was down to 15 mph behind a plow crew. Good travelling around on snow packed roads through several towns. Time for feet up and some soup and sandwich.

Pics from car, one side @ 9", other side @ 10.5"
Edit... Car had around 2" prior to yesterday, so I figure we got around 8" of fresh powder.

And my snowhound. She loves playing in the snow.

A bit shaky, otherwise a decent video. We got about 12" thus far.
