If the heavy berm is your real issue, keep an eye out for a track sn*w blower. That is all I have ever used here and it will go through almost anything since it doesnt pivot on the wheel axle line

I know your blower is new but maybe could sell that one if you found a deal on a track blower.

Not a good day to find out your 4 wheel drive doesn't work after being at the dealership three weeks ago to fix an inner seal on the front SMFH.... :picard:

Well still heavy snow, tough to call a proper amount with this storm. If I had to guess something over 10 inches. Wind is a steady 15 mph and temp is -4* F. Temp should rise to a high of 4* today around 10AM. I guess I’ll take advantage of the heat wave and clean up this mess.

Hey the beast is still cranking, no need to load it up again for a couple of days. Stay warm and safe!

Along with timing to watch the Pats game at 6:40. I really want to see both games but the chit may be subsiding around 5PM here. If thats the case, I may be able to clean up and be back in by 7-8 pm to see the 2nd half.

Got about 5 in out here, snowblowed anyway cause if it's gonna rain/sleet/freeze for the next 6+ hrs I'd rather sand & salt then . Seems to be getting colder faster than predicted too so maybe it goes back to a bit more snow. P43 humming along with the doug fir pellets, house a nice comfy 74. My Keto coffee (Dunkin Turbo, butter, heavy cream, MCT oil) tasted really good afterwards. Now to play with installing Linux Mint on our computers in the house. Would love to dump Windows 10.

    I'm waiting.
I know if I get it clear now, whatever rain or sleet after will make a skating rink later.
Very cold.. no chance of melting..

No white chit but just a nasty cold spell lingering about, -26*F with the windchill of -40*F plus some :shiver::shiver::shiver::shiver::shiver::shiver::shiver::shiver::shiver::shiver::shiver:
Hibernating mode with both pellet heaters working together :DLacrete's in the Fahrenheit and Spruce Pointe's in the Accentra :smoke:
Our eastern country folks are getting hammered with 36" of the white chit and just further south they're having lot's & lot's of rain with temps dropping sharply for a recipe of you know what:loco:

Good morning all, now I'm hungry. Beautiful Bacon is defrosting here as I type this. ...

Not wining at all there G - I should've known better here. Dammed snow skim on top of the ice, is what got me. again. It's been a weirder, tougher season vs. usual here on the mountain - back in mid Nov. '18 we got blasted with 2+ feet of sn*w, if you drove 20 mins. either way, the ground was bare. Nothing. The price for 'living in the woods', I guess. Dec. '18 here was wetter - more ice vs. snow. It is what it is - propane torch has been getting a workout, keeping the front walkway clear.

It's just been incredibly busy w/ work, car repair, and white chit here since Thanksgiving .. I'm done with winter already.. The "magic of winter" is officially gone.

Good friends and long-time neighbors plowed the driveway this a.m. - got done in 10 minutes what would've taken me 2+ hours to do w/ the blower. Note to self: plow payment & a 30 pack are on this list this week.

Gonna wait on the walkways / pathways till later today.

This week was the well pressure tank failing Monday evening - it never ends. Pump was short-cycling every 5 seconds, we were on strict 'water rationing' for a few days while I diagnosed / provisioned for replacement, to prevent burning the pump / pump controller out. Was able to save most of the components, including re-using the Tank Tee, pressure switch, etc. Of course, one of the fittings in the supply side now has a slow leak, is dripping every 3o seconds or so. I have to solder up / build out a new supply leg to the main house run this morning. I'll check it later - unless something's changed - until it warms up later this week, it's gonna stay dripping.

I need a vacation. Somewhere warm.

    * Steve - good luck w/ the truck - and don't get stuck.

Gotta get busy here (sigh), have a safe & fun morning all.

Well think I am gonna go for it as the temp does not want to make it above 13-14* going to shut down the stove upstairs burn some oil and get it cleaned once I finish with the snow. Only had a few minutes with rain has been sleeting mixed with snow and all snow then back and forth so screw it gonna go for it. Hopefully it will not start raining from here on in.

Finished snow blowing everything about an hour ago. Got about 10" of snow and got nothing during the 1.3 hours I was snow blowing. Then, right as I finished, what should show up? FOOLED YOU - nope, wasn't a road plow but mixed precip. That's okay, I have shoes on the snow blower set 1/2-3/4-" up so there is a bit of snow left everywhere to help soak up any nasty stuff. Town plows haven't been down my road since sometime before 5:30 this morning (when I got up) so the road has snow to help catch that nasty stuff too. I'll have to run out as soon as the plow does decide it is time to go thru to get the berm before it hardens.

Got plenty of sand ready to go if needed to. Fortunately my driveway is both short and flat so I don't have nearly the issues I had at my old place.

The chit down is like blowing wet cement , the chute kept clogging and only toss it a foot or so :hair::hair::hair: I said F uck it and ended up shoveling out the chit at the end and rest can melt when ever . The temps are plummeting here , so don't wait to long if you're in the transition zone .

That just sux. When it's like that, I sometimes will use the 3 foot scooper shovel to push a section into a long, larger pile-like a berm. Then the blower can get chew on that and actually throw it

Well. Got about 4" of snow and ice. Better than the 7-14 that was predicted. So woke up this am and enjoyed a cup of joe and figured I could get breakfast in before cleaning things up. It had stopped icing/sleeting s I figured I'm good to go. Wifey starts bacon and French toast and youngest son comes out and announces he has to go to work. His Malibu has newer tires, but iced over berm at the end of the driveway doesn't look promising as his car is pretty low to the ground. I'm picturing me pushing him through the berm or him stuck halfway out in road (we live on other side of a hill - blind driveway) NG. Throw on boots and run out to clear drive behind his car and wipe out berm quickly as he is deicing/snow his vehicle. He gets out fine and I go back in to enjoy my breakfast before doing the rest of the cleanup. Now its sleeting again and messing up the previously cleaned portion of the drive. errr.
Best part of the morn was Wifey yelping when a mouse was in the silverware drawer when she opened it and her insisting that I get it out of there. He vamooshed before I could evict him.Now she is washing all the silverware and cleaning the drawers. She does not appreciate my laughter.
My big concern is the wind coming later today and tonight. I do NOT want to lose power for 2 reasons. 1 is generator. I fired it up last night and had problem with the governor. I think I got it straighten up but now I have concerns. Coleman powermate 5000 watts. Needs to be updated. Also need to be put in the budget.
2 I have a problem with my service box. Years ago I got small amount of water in it when seal on top of meter pan leaked. Fixed leak however now there is some corrosion on breakers and bus bars. I had a few problems with GFIs and lost power last week and took cover off service to find a broken breaker and more water in service! Blew water from serve and got all dried . Located and sealed leaking seal again. Replaced several breakers so I think I will be OK. however I want to change the main breaker but can't change it until power is pulled. My bud can pull the meter for me, but we want to wait for better weather to do it. I don't want to touch the main, but I will have to to run the generator. Hopefully we don't lose power.
Stopped precipitating so I'm going to finish cleanup. Temp has dropped 3 degrees while I typed this novel.
Oh ya more crap news. Needed pellets and HD had tons of Stove Chow . Went in Friday night and paid for a ton of Chows and young man ( I coached him in little league ) on fork lift says hey Mr. doggy whats up. We don't have any more Chows. All we have is Green Supreme ( NE blend ) $%^# I have a ton of them in my garage. Hoping for the best. If Chows come in I am going to exchange the GS for them.

    Doggy
