Yup, that's sounds like Eric VW terminology for sure.

*Thanks much Will for the heads-up earlier on the storm icing - stopped by the town sand pile they leave for folks @ the lake and grabbed 6 pellet bags worth of sand, it looks like we're in for some icing here also, according to the evening news. :headbang: Ice sucks.

Got my azz handed to me (literally) during the last round back in Dec. '18, driveway was a sheet of ice, started off doing a Dorothy Hamill, ended up on a board slam like Wayne Gretzky. :picard: Knew I was going down, soft landed on the right leg & side, same as always, took a few weeks for the bruising and limping to subside though. Parts are starting to get more brittle each winter, sigh. :( Gonna be sanding that mother so it looks like a beach tomorrow.

Not much going on outside here, steady light sn*w, thought it would be heavier by now - I'm sure it will be more in the a.m.

Time for me to turn in, have a great night all. :handshake:

Sounds like it is pouring with a little sleet mixed in here. Hope the temps dont drop or it could be ugly.

Must be mostly sleet actually....not gonna be fun cleaning up

Only got 6-8" and mixing with sleet no rain yet but its forecast'ed and I'm thinking they got it right. At this point would rather see it stay all snow but don't think that's a happening as they are saying even you folks further up North are gonna see some of the freezing rain as well.
Will just have to wait and see....

Tomorrow is a Pfizer holiday and they do not want us around ! so day of cleanup and rest scheduled for tomorrow as the wind chills are gonna be wicked 25 - 30 below forecast. Harmans getting a serious OCD cleaning today to prep them for the upcoming week .

Well, pretty much a bust here, considering what they predicted. Got all of 2 1/2 - 3", and now rain/freezing rain, although not hard. Sn*w has a crust on it.

    What? No French toast?????

Yeah, like I said in an earlier post, we virtually had no sn*w all winter, but as soon as I decide to get out of the NE, old man winter decides to kick my azz on the way out. Maybe the no-sn*w prayer and dancing in my birthday suit out in the front yard yesterday made most of the storm go away.

And no, won't miss this chit at all.

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out if I want to snow blow now or wait for the mix to get done. The berm at the end of the driveway really should be taken care of, but I don't need more ice than I already have on the surface.

I'm waiting until all the rain/freezing rain is done.....the sn*w underneath is pretty fluffy, so I think it will clean-up easily (I hope). Don't want to clear it and then get a coating of ice on the bare surfaces.

My biggest worry is that berm from the snow plows. If it hardens up I am in for a fight with the snow blower. I could go out and just take care of that, but if I make one path thru the driveway, I know I'll just do the whole thing.

Arggh, I can argue with myself all day :loco:

IMO, I'd just do the berm for now.

I finally got the plow driver here trained.....all the driveways on this street are on the same side, so he plows the chit to the opposite side......no real berm to speak of.

Same here Pete. Getting a mix of rain and freezing rain on top of the snow now. Very slushy out there. It’s gonna start getting frigid cold this afternoon. If there’s enough on the ground to move, will take care of it then, after it hardens up a bit. Got some PTL Softies queued up for the cold over the next couple days.

Soft landing....that's a plus that I havnt experienced. Hard landings are the norm as my feet go out from under unexpectedly :headbang:

I sound and feel like a winer on this issue, but these are my exact experiences years ago as I learned the weather patterns in my then "new to me area" coupled with learning the pitfalls of a sloped/hill driveway and ice under the sn*w. I am now very anal about keeping the driveway clear of ice if at all possible.

And take longer to heal now.

Same questions here. I am leaning towards waiting it out so I dont get any more ice buildup by exposing the surfaces to the sleet and freezing rain chit thats coming.
