Still raining here. Hoping we don’t get a lot of ice. No generator to run stove blower:picard:

We use a deep cycle battery and a 750 watt diehard inverter... blower draws 200 watts... we can run the blower for quite some time with that configuration...

$100-$200 buys you a cheap lil 1000W genny...enough to run many household items one at a time...even multiple things at a time if they are low draw like the stove blower...like maybe the TV, stove blower, a light or two...etc. Can get 'em at about any hardware/big box/Harbor Fright...

Yep. I need to get my a harbor freight predator. Store is right up the road. Longest we’ve ever been without power is 2 hrs. I just keep putting it off.

This natural ice carousel has been on our local news for over a week now. Be interesting to see what the dump of snow does to it...

Well, blacksmith and I literally just got done cleaning up the mess and loading the firewood before the snow hit.....it's coming down steady right now, about 1" on the ground already.

We did this 65' pin oak this morning. Climbed up about 45', limbed all those
nasty clusters of twigs off on the way up and a few big limbs, came down right where we wanted it....

So since it is already in the news...might get your 15 minutes of fame if you crawled out on there and clamped an outboard motor to it! ;)

Nowhere on the PaDOT website do they suggest or recommend using other commonwealth roads as a substitute for travel. What they do recommend is monitoring the website for lifting of bans due to improving road conditions.

Started snowing here about an hour and a half ago- coming down pretty good. Supposed to last until after midnight sun/mon, still expecting 18"-24" with locally higher amounts. (Accuweather still saying 24"-36", but I doubt that)

Stay safe, post pics & videos hoarders!
