you can have my share of the storm if that will help. I am in the 12-24+ range with blizzard winds. Local power company is planning on widespread outages. This is to be followed by arctic freeze for the next week with additional storm following in. Not even the ocean is going to help us with this one.

5-6" here. Light, fluffy fine snow. Broom snow as my grandma would say.

    Where's that snowmobile key?

In practice the ban is voluntary, it's not like state police are running shotgun ticketing mad truckers driving in spite of the ban. Decent people do their part to help keep the roads clear of accidents and death. The snow plow guys appreciate the effort to stay off the road so they can do their jobs.

Can do a lot more betterer plowin with that set-up for sure Jack. Does it have the hyd angle function too? And, I bet pushing big piles back is easier than a pickup w/plow ?

My problem is putting those rigs on the side roads where there's oncoming traffic and hill to lose traction on.
Western NY and downwind lake regions see some of the most badazz snow storms anywhere and we have the best snow removal equipment and operators anywhere. We are only forecast 8-12 . Here that's a spring walk in the park.
Monday's cast calls for a high of 7 and sunny. If the wind chill is below zero my trucks will stay parked .I'll battle the snow but not the cold. All that said ,, in my 49 years living here I can count on one hand the # of times they've closed sections of the interstates but not entire interstates .

If it bad they should just STOP....i could get into a lot about a lot of these drivers who are not from the U.S.
Theres nothing but an uphill grade to cross from one town or another where we live...instead of them taking a main highway they take this route...im sure its what there GPS tells them. If they they had a truckers GPS n kept it up to date..they would know.
The big snow back in November...there was a long haul tractor n trailer down in an orchard over an enbackment....took two wreckers to get it out....

There's no need to be on the side roads. A travel ban and/or advisory means no travel. It's not a hard concept.

They (PA/NY governors/DOT) have only banned interstate travel and have advised side road travel to all commercial trucks.

Coming down pretty steady here, I went out and split and stacked close to a cord before it started coming down steady.

I just got the third valve kit installed last weekend. I got a new plow that I’m working on. I’ll have the hydraulic angle on that.

This is usually us...we are well south of the primary snow belt, even 5-10 miles south of the secondary snow belt...and when storms come in from the south or southwest, seems like we are at least 5 miles north of those! Kind of in a "donut hole" for winter storms often times...or at least the heavy snows!
