Are they the same as Allegheny brand pellets? My father is burning Allegheny now and he said they have a crap load of ash and heat isn’t horribly great.
Decent Hardwood. Lot of Ash. Same company bags stove chows for Home Depot all along eastern seaboard. Pretty much the same pellets
That’s kinda what I thought but I wasn’t positive. Sometimes the parent company has a little better quality then the daughter/ sister companies. The only thing I can really find around me is dry creek, lignetics, tractor supply blend and hardwood, Allegheny and I’m hoping the one place gets barefoot back in stock. I mean I know of a dealer who’s like 45 min away where I can get a lot of stuff but he’s a little high on prices. If you had a choice out of those what would be the best bang for the buck? He doesn’t have spruce pointe or easy blaze blends
Those prices are downright awful but if I had to pick from that menu, the Spruce Pointe, Eagle Valley, or AWF Hardwood would be it.
I know they are but around here he’s got everybody because no one else sells high end pellets. I would have to travel like an extra half hour to get okanagans or something. Think it was an hour and 15 min to get oakies. I mean the local place is still waiting to see if they are getting more barefoot but they have lignetics, dry creek, New England and warm front.
Just found these at hd. Price went down so like $220 a ton. Anyone try them? I don’t know if I’m going to be able to get more barefoot pellets or not.
Heres an idea buy some burn em in ur stove see how they do. Like 5 bags will give you an idea. Everyones stove is different, everyones opinion on ash is different, everyones opinion of good heat is different. You know what opinions are like try before you buy amd trust your own.
agree.... 50 different opinions of the same pellet should tell ya something....up and down this forum for years.. I'm a Softwood snob but would never tell people that they should only use them.. no one really knows it all... just gotta go with works good for your stove, house demands, and temperatures desired . some peoples houses face the Great Northern winds, some aren't insulated well, OAK/noOAK etc...too many variables...
I know, but I was just curious how the burn was. Trust me I llllooovvveeee soft woods but there isn’t anyone around here who has them. If they do they are crazy expensive. Wish I lived out in eastern Massachusetts. Upstate ny really sucks. Go get softwoods anywhere you have to travel at least an hour
Cheapest softies around me are $300 for spruce pointe which the guy is out of, $300 for eagle valley and like $370 for 60 bags of lacrete
My dealer gets the good softwoods here for spring sale so good time to catch them at approx 250ish/ ton. it good to be able to have storage room for some tons. of course u add 100.00 for the good Douglas Firs..
