Wife's vacuum fell apart. It seems that we're buying a vacuum about ever other year lately. Does anyone know of a good one that will hold up and still not cost an arm and a leg?

Santa brought a Shark, powered lift away last year and it has been a good one so far.

Dennis I had a hard time getting over the bagged vacs to canister. I could not use the Shark Rocket that well, too heavy to hold it in the air. After a couple false tries I ended up with an Eureka Floor Rover and I'm pleased with it :) Seems they don't make the ones I liked anymore.

Looking at the Sharks now and will then look at the Eureka.
I have to ask about noise. Wife had a Eureka and it was so loud I had to leave the house for sure. Even hearing protectors were not enough. So, how is that Floor rover?

And I have to ask you too about how bad the noise is with this vacuum?

With the 3 Australian hair bombs I got a Bissell pet hair eraser upright. It does work as advertised just keep the canister empty when it gets stuffed and clean the filter(easy). There is also an insert air freshener that makes the room smell nice after use even after a couple years.

Noise is not too bad, and I really like the lift away center and ours is the rotator model which makes it swivel in and around stuff easy.

Another for shark, works well, reasonable price. Dyson sucks both ways, it does vacuum great but expensive and smell bad after a while, the cyclones trap dirt and can not be cleaned.

One of my deer hunting buddies gave me his old Dyson for our cabin and deer camp. It is very well engineered and I will get a cordless Dyson for home when our old Kenmore finally kicks the bucket.

And what does my age have to do with this one? Someone told me age is how I feel, so I simply try to always feel the young ones...
