right, but back then, we had nothing, no internet (Al Gore hadn't invented it then). No plastic buckets. we did have beer cans and peanut butter. Can't help but wonder how things would have been had we had some of the conveniences we have and take for granted today. I don't think they would have gotten away with some of the lies told then.
We recently purchased a new vehicle, the old carolla with 250k wasn’t worth much as a trade so we kept it and will run it as a 3rd car till the reg is up, I used it last Friday and parked it. This morning I saw the tell tail sign on the passenger seat! Wtf! The bucket has been deployed! There’s not much in life that I will say I hate but mice are at the top of the list!
Just came upon this thread and Im glad I did. We get them every fall/winter. Got some new ideas now besides poison.
Replacing the head gasket today on one of the snowblowers and I dropped a washer under the machine. Found the bottom panel rusted at the bolts. Good grief. May as well oil the gears while it is apart and limp this machine through another winter.
I have battled mice for years who seem to think my woods truck is their very own playground/motel. It is kept outside under a carport on the end of the garage. Every time I start it up I never know whether the heater fan is going to work or not. I have finally outsmarted them by putting some wire screen up in the air intake before the blower and after several adjustments have not had a problem for a while. I do keep two snap traps under the hood and check them often.

No pics but wipers are working (not fixed) taped some wires and new fuse.. All I could do bare handed at -4 degrees..
ah come on that sounds like a flatlander excuse (I am kidding of course in case itdidn't come over so well on the intrawebs)
"Heated shop is sooo nice!" ... there, fixed it... ... and worth whatever it takes to make it happen... Every time I come back in the house, after working on something during the cold season, I'm sooooo grateful for heat out theya...
Having a beer after work last night out in the shop and one of little chits come across the floor near my feet. I was going to try to step on it but I didn't want to clean up the mess.
