Just a couple of my recent hauls from my supply. Needless to say I have barely scratched the surface of this one! We have hauled out about 30 ricks total so far and can barely tell where we have been! All white and red oak. Have almost a mile of downed timber ready for the picking!

Welcome to the forum Donny. A mile of downed timber? How wide or is this a fencerow? Nevertheless, that can be a lot of wood!

Its 100 feet wide, 1/2 a mile north and south and 1/2 a mile east and west. Its where a gas pipeline came through and cleared out the timber for their line.

That's a once in a lifetime score! If you could keep it dry you'd have enough wood for decades. Do you have a time limit to get it out before construction starts?

Pipeline has already been laid. Kinda on a time limit. Clean up crew is supposed to come back through in a few months and chip up anything that is left over.

That's some pressure. You're at the mercy of the weather.

If you notice theres a 30X50 barn in the back ground of one of the pics. I plan on having it at least half way full before I lose my stash.... Thats if orders will slow down just a tad hahaha

Yes and the weather has not been kind the last few weeks. If it would rain the first part of the week I would be fine as it would be dry enough to get into the place... But as it stands Its been raining Thursday and Friday leaving me closed out on the weekends.

Welcome, You though about hauling out in logs, to a location where they can be cut into rounds at leisure? You can maximize the amount of wood you get before the chipper arrives.

Welcome to the group. I think you will like it here, great group of folks and a lot of good ideas. What Sourwood said. If you have a way of loading logs, get it out that way. We have a small 30 hp Kubota with FEL. You can get a job done quick, move a lot of wood to your cutting area. Yes sir thats what we have been doing since we were able to get a tractor with front end loader into the location. Can have a trailer loaded and ready to travel in about 45 minutes. Round trip from wood yard to location and back is approx 3.5 hours.

Next time I go to the property I will take some more pictures to show just what Im working with... Its HUGE! I could easily haul from this location for 2-3 years and still not get it all... And another good thing about the place is the land owner has some more standing timber that he wants us to fall in the near future so that will be more wood for us to season for next year!
