    More dead ash.

    101_0383.JPG

Here is the stump from the one ash. When I cut it, I could not get the saw closer to the stump else I'd have gotten maybe one more log from it, but I didn't worry. 101_0384.JPG

And here is the rest of that one ash. I had the atv but will wait until I take the tractor back to try pulling it down. I did pull it part way down until it dug into the ground and I could not pull any more. 101_0385.JPG

Now the funny part is this dead elm. I figured on cutting it before leaving this area. Forgot... I just packed up and went to a different area where I had more logs to get out. 101_0386.JPG

We still have plenty of elm. Lots of soft maple. Some oak. There is always some pine. Don't think we'll ever run out; just won't have the ash.

I got that top out of there today but didn't get the elm yet. Worked mostly in a different area. There is always tomorrow...

I don't have plentiful ash down here - apparently it holds up well standing dead unlike most species.

Thanks for the pics and keep them coming.

Very motivational for me... I have some dead standing small sassafras on my radar for this spring.

I have 2 large, 24 to 28" diameter ash trees left and about 20+- small ones left on my place. There also about 15 I've taken down but haven't bucked yet. When those are down and bucked I'll gave to make a deal with Brandon Scott to cut on his place. :D

Nice work Dennis, you're a workin' dog! :salute:

Funny you mention the sassy. I found one today that should be cut as it is on our line but hanging over into the neighbor's field. Right next to it is an ash that fell into the field so I'll get 2 for 1.
