Last years oak finally

I didn’t get to cut much last winter as it was muddy and wet and the ground never froze . I had cut two big dead standing Red Oaks that I couldn’t get back to. Finally got to them today fun time in the woods at last. Now I need to catch back up as we are down to 5 cords stacked and seasoned.

Thanks Mike but the five cord I have are for next year. This will be the start of 2021 so it will be plenty dry by then. Wish you or one of the guys was closer as I have way more dead standing then I can get to.

 

Bark free, but man the messy punky sap wood - I'm hitting a spot in my pile right now with white oak that I had to move and was not covered in its first season punky dust sap wood

 

I like it lights fast no starter needed. And I don’t keep any wood in the house so no mess.

 

Looks like it was pretty dry off the ground trees, little bit of punk, but that happens with oak pretty quick anyway.

That will heat your pool for a while too.... Those kids/grandkids are probably spoiled with the heated pool....

Never seen shells before for a driveway, but it looks like they hold up pretty well.

I've started popping the sap wood off my oak with the splitter when it's even marginal.

 

Now that's some dandy 'catch up' wood! And a great looking barn. That orange thing parked in front of your barn looks exactly like the orange thing parked in my shed. Mine's a 26, what's yours?

 

26 also bought it when we built the new house 9 years ago to put the yard and gardens in our selves. Figured use it a few years and sell it. Here we are 9 years later and can’t live without it.

 

I thought I was using the 2660 but that is my 2360 I got cheap with a backhoe also can’t part with it you can see the 26 in the barn if you zoom in.

 

Nice load of oak. That will dry real nice with the bark already off. Nice tractors as well, seems there's always something needs doing and a tractor makes it so much easier.

 

Great pictures gboutdoors .. Your driveway looks like crushed oyster shells. Uncle has that, love it because its bright and shiney at night.

Crushed Quahog shells been good for 9 years now. Have to put down a new layer every 3-4 years . Takes 4 ten wheels to cover, more fun for the tractors .

 

I need you to teach me how to get grass that looks like that!
