Got the spear shack moved this morning before first light. Sat until noon. Picked off four nice bluegill to go with some deboned pike fillets from Saturday for our fish fry tonight. Will add some homemade tartar sauce, wild rice and some canned veggies of some sort. Speared one 31" pike, vacuum sealed it whole, and threw it in the deep freeze for the smoker.

Met the local Conservation Officer at the landing and chatted awhile. A very nice young man who loves his job and the outdoors. It is great to see their presence protecting our resources.

Overcast, mild and no wind here either Schlot. I heard about that colder weather moving in. That will be good for our ice making.

Speaking of chainsaws and ice fishing, my spearing buddy just got in on a group buy for a Stihl with a 28" bar which he will dedicate for cutting spear holes. No bar oil needed or desired as it would film up the surface of the hole.

There was plenty of wood in the OWB, its just that the furnace wasn't able to turn on the blower motor......

Funny how that electricity stuff works!

We need snow. Weather has been very nice lately, little snow last weekend, a little more for this coming one. Hoping for some big dumps this spring, we're still on an out-door burn ban.
Thanks all for the B-day wishes.

Woodwidow Network Access Servers aren't overly expensive these days.

If you are computer inclined and have an "extra" computer laying around, Linux is a very robust server operating system, but it's not something the "average" user wants to dive into.

I haven't run a server for some years now, but used to.
3 hot swappable hard drives, automatic backups, DNS, web server, e-mail, the works.

Occasionally I miss it, but it kinda consumed me for a number of years.
    :hair:

    I'm much better now...

    Whew...marathon day today.

Damp but not too cold. Looks like a small fire tonight.

    Did I miss anything?

Last I seen, snow and ice pellets then more than enough rain to get rid of it. But, the most reliable forecast is the cat....
