hey everyone, I was just curious if there was a full wireless set up for a Harman. I have a toddler and a dog and one of them ripped the room sensor wire out the back of the stove. I’m tired of having to replace the ends. Is there something I could plug into the back and have a thermostat around the corner in the other room. Besides having to run the sensor wire like 10-15’ away along the wall and around the corner?

while some aftermarket item *might* exist, Harman does not make a wireless thermostat for the p43

Is there anything I can do or would I have to run like 20’ of wire to the thermostat?

about the only thing is to extend the room sensing probe with thermostat wire

Also would that thermostat actually control anything or pretty much be the same as extending the wire but with a digital temp readout

I know the newer stoves have temp sensors like remotely. Is there anyway to actually get a board off of a newer stove and do it that way or is it totally different?

nope....just extends the room sensing probe...…..not a fan of aftermarket thermostats on them.....seen too many issues where the thermostat was at fault.....but many folks here have used them successfully, from what I hear

Well that’s upsetting lol. You would think with all the technology these days you wouldn’t have to run 20’ of wire down your wall and make it look ugly.

well, the Pseries aren't really known for their beauty, and its basically 15 year old technology, so....

Yah got me there lol but they are a great running stove. I actually slacked at the end of last year and forgot to clean mine. I installed an new heat pump system in my house for ac and heating but as it’s known after a certain temp they just don’t heat as good. So the other day I turned the stove on and it started up perfectly in like 4-5 min. But my cable for my room sensor got the ends ripped off so I’m using stove temp and the heat is ok but doesn’t seem to be as hot as normal. So I’m going to give her a good cleaning this week and hopefully that helps. But I’m also running blazers and they are supposed to be great on heat but eh

Replacing the room temp sensor will put out more heat then stove temp?

well, it will vary the heat depending upon setting, so, more efficient....crank up stove temp and it will produce some heat too

But also use a lot more pellets. I’m going through about a bag if not more in less then a day.

I use a Skytech 3301P wireless thermostat. Into our 6th heating season with our P43 and the Skytech, works great, just change the batteries every year.

Does it just plug into the room temp sensor port on the back of the stove or does it have to be hooked up to the back of the circuit board? Also what functions can you use? If you want more heat do you just turn it up on the remote?

Yes it just connects to the room sensor connectors. It's programmable, has a few different modes, swing settings. We use thermostat mode, have it set for 73 degrees, swing mode of 2 degrees. So it kicks on at 71, stops at 75, house is 72-73 most of the time. P43 running in room temp/manual mode so it stays in idle burn mode between calls from the thermostat.
