    14465581-A174-4CB5-AED6-96262AE6CF40.jpeg Hey Hoarders.

Like any changes in life, I had to put a couple things on pause. Having bought a house with my love, adjusting, taking the time to make things happen have been going on. Some new additions some not. I am currently not burning. Shocker. Looking forward to it later though. My BBQ will suffice as I cook several meals with the Char-GrillerPro. I also deep fried the Thanksgiving Turkey at my Loves Parents.

We do have a fireplace but wanted to update again that the flue isn’t operational, per the inspector of our house. I’d like to rectify this soon because I am aware that my wood supply is vaunted at my parents currently. The Stronghold. A little info on this house..we seem to keep it at 67°F. That is subject to clarification because temps of this house being two floors are inaccurate. House was built in my birth year,’85. Means I need an oil change or the house does. Original furnace, not running efficiently. I’m at a quandary especially with the honey. She doesn’t like the house at Fiji Temps. I have reasoned with her with the fireplace but sometimes the heat potential of the entire thing is a bit much since this house keeps heat VERY WELL compared to my other house. Great insulation, less drafts as I attempt to keep them closed when I find them.

I have picked up wood. At much of the chagrin of mine, in hopes that a deep woodshed is to be built, it will be. I’ve been advised to slow the wood form version of the A&P. Sorry I missed you all for the Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! If I have missed anyone in gratitude, knowing I uphold this Brother/Sisterhood strongly I wish you all well.

Appreciate that! It’s no Iowa but maybe one day I’ll take a couple licks of the wind off Spirit Lake/Okoboji. You fishing this winter?

You’re a great welcome sight and accommodation here VeeUbb, I really appreciate that. Gonna hog toward it all. Missed your sass. Expect some kind of deliberation because this house is quite different from previous.

Likely soon. It’s all part of a process. We are currently having a warmer winter than others. I’m just glad to be back on this good forum. You’re good folks, I admire this place. I know we stick around I cannot refuse this place. I’ve missed it.

    Nice to see you back!

I think the fireplace you have is a prime candidate for a small insert and the SS liner for that will make it code worthy.

Save me some of that fish shanty punch, please:)

Gonna have to make a batch of my own, this year my father made it. I want to put the smallest insert I can. This house holds its heat well and temps aren’t falling below Frosty much. If the Two coincide then it’s likely next year.

It's hard to stop hoarding, isn't it? I'm glad you managed to stash some at your parents. Just get through this winter, and get the flue in order this summer, maybe your lady will go for a small stove in the basement?

No basement here but the idea might be best If just the fireplace and dry wood if one can help it. I’m really unsure about it until someone takes a good look around.

Nice to see you back and I hope you are doing well at your new home.

    I'm with Horkn.

Liner and a small Jotul. A 602, F 100 or a F3 that might be too big for the space.

Hey buddy! Nice to see you posting again, welcome back and congrats on the new digs! Looks like a great place to rest your head.

Now, on to business so we can help you spend your money.. Details on the current chimney? Clay tile can be broken out pretty easily if needed, often by you instead of a paid contractor. Insulated liner isn't too spendy. It sounds like an insert is in order, pronto. Maybe something that can run an outside air kit since the new place is buttoned up tight. With a nice stash of dry wood already on deck at your parents' place, you are halfway there!
