Combustion blower runs nice and quiet. Tried to get the set screw off so I could pull the impeller blade off but it’s licked on there good. I’ll clean it up as it is and reinstall. Does the combustion blower need oil

Got the squirrel cages out of the convection blower. That was a challenge but that video was actually a big help. I’ll get those cages cleaned up today. Does the convection fan require oiling

Did you try a propane torch w/ small flame aimed just at the impeller hub? Expands the metal around the set screw....while still hot, set screw may come loose. Much easier to get at bearing to put some 3 in1 blue can, or Anderol in there. Makes sense since you have it apart already.

You can try and get a drop or two in there if you can...it may seep into the bearings, just don't overdue it....same for the convec. blower

I was hoping to try that today but sat on my azz watching football. Will definitely hit it with a torch though to see if I can get it off. Hope to get all the side and rear panels painted up this week and reassemble the stove next weekend

Worked on the door today.Pulled the door gasket and while I was in there I figured I’d do the glass gasket too. I’ll take the door with me to work tomorrow and get it painted so I can reinstall the glass. Then onto the door gasket.

Started putting things back together today. Installed both blowers with new gaskets and burn pot with new gasket. Made sure the thermocouple was all the ways in and secured the cover in place. Reinstalled the front grill along with all the side panels.

Things were moving along really well until I went to do the door gasket and ash pan gasket. Bought a tube of high temp red RTV at the dealer on Wednesday. Went to use it and no go. 1st I thought it was the caulking gun but I tried 3 different ones and it just wouldn’t flow. Went to TSC and all they had was the gasket kits. Went to HD and they had nothing as they no longer sell stoves or accessories. Nothing at Lowe’s either. Stinks because tomorrow would have been a great day to get them both done with the storm coming in.

Hate to ask this, but you DID push a big nail or something sharp down through the top of the nozzle to break the seal, right? Was there uncured silicone on the nail when you pulled it back out?

the caulking gun has the plunge rod on it for breaking the seal. When that yielded no results tried a long thin screwdriver and still no go.and yes there was uncured silicone on both the plunge rod and the screwdriver.

So I took a coat hanger to the tube if rtv that I got from the dealer and while it’s soft towards the tip it’s still on the bottom half. Went to the local ace and pumped they had the high temp red. Got the door and ash bin gaskets done. Put on the last few side panels so stove is now complete. Hope to get it installed next weekend.now for some football

$5 cheaper at ace too for the RTV. On another note I was missing one of the plastic bushings for the hopper lid. Cheapest I found on line was $27 for the pair. Went to Lowe’s to see if I could find a match and settled on what’s called and expansion nut. Slips right over the river. All day long at .72c a piece

Question. So I have Selkirk Dt venting already in place from my last stove. I’ll have to install this with the pipe at an angle cause the vent pipe on the classic bay is on the left hand side of the stove. I have to separate the 4ft piece from the 1ft adjustable. This is not gonna happen till next weekend but what works best too separate the pipes. I’ve done this in the past but can’t remember what I used to soak it with

MEC or mineral spirits should loosen the goo.

I've also heard spraying with WD40 and letting soak will help loosen it.

Isn't that insane for those? I can't even imagine what the markup is on those.
