I do the same thing, and am relatively similar in shape. :D

Looks like we flirted with 0 over night. Got pretty chilly downstairs - my fault for a light load last night and sleeping in this morning. Making up for it now though - gone from 60 to 71 so far in about an hour on pine and red oak. Dirty looks from the peanut gallery have stopped for the time being.

Only got down to 10*overnight here. Woke up to bright sunshine loks like a good day to get out and cut some wood.

image.jpg image.jpg Might be a touch warmer than the forecast, or stove is keeping up easier for some reason.

Was 12ºF outside this morning . Was 55ºF in the stove room.
Cleaned out ashes this morning for a few inches of more room, as there were very few red coals.
2 loads of pine this morning but back to red oak now.
I can get the stove nice and hot easy with the pine but I don't have a lot of it quite dry enough to try burning it all day, although the stuff I've been splitting is almost there.

I only put in two rounds in the OWB at bedtime last night. During the night, as they burned, they rolled apart from each other and just kinda simmered-not really burning strong. Upon this morning's check of the OWB, temps was down to 112! Normally 162-172 ish range.

A quick shifting of those two left over chunks and one more and back in business.

12 out when got up. About 20 now. Chaz and I are working at bringing wood in. Once we get that done he will be restocking the front porch. That is about all we have planned today. I am going to watch the football game later on.
