25 and ash in the stove. They claim our first snow is coming???? We will see. Going to get some cutting done today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
20f here, was 17 at 10:00 last night. Oak and locust going in the box then off to work. TG I F (Thank God I found) wood heat.
18 outside. Looks like we'll get our first dose of snow this weekend, then some relatively normal January temperatures next week.
We haven't seen single digit lows yet. Weird stuff. Still haven't burned 2 cord of wood yet and we're just about halfway through the season.
20° here, and not getting out of the 20°'s for the next three days. I'm having a hard time adjusting. I know you all have been waiting for sub freezing temps, but this puts the kibosh on work outside for me. I got some splitting done Weds., and I know splitting wood keeps you warm. And no doubt I'll get desperate enough to try and work out there, but right now, uh uh.
Doesn't sound like you at all! C'mon now....you'd have to shovel snow outside, right? This is just an extension of that, no? If you're in a funk, you'll get out of it faster by the outside work. 20's area a breeze! (have I talked you into it yet?)
26 outside 75 in the family room the stove was down to coals, I loaded some sugar splits and its flaming now. Were supposed to get up to 7" of snow tonight and tomorrow so today I'll cover my stacks and drop the carry all from the tractor and hook onto the blade, just in case.
26 this morning...........couple of splits to bring the room temp back up & get the blower going! Full load of oak & maple before going off to work.........Windy and chilly next few days highs in low 30's, calling for few inches snow Sat afternoon!
Weather hanging in at -18 c feels -24 c or 0 f feels -11 f for the time being, but should warm a bit by afternoon. Poplar in the reactor same as always.
Was 11 felt like -1. Now it is 20 with clear blue skies. I am with Molly, when it gets cold I hibernate. Just can't take it anymore.
Looking at the radar and the forecast, I'm glad I came home when I did else I'd have driven through even more snow. It is still a shock though that I was waking up to temperatures in the 50's and now in the teens. Highs here in the 20's; there in the 70's. Ya. Different, but it is good to be home. Funny, I thought about Rope a couple times when I was sitting in a deer blind. Wore light clothing; no gloves; not ear covers, etc. What a difference in January between the south and interior Alaska!
Midwinter Chazsbetterhalf I am attempting to tread the thin ice on this one. As you know the proper clothing makes is doable. I am just one example of working in the cold. Every day I am in it. Would be a long winter if I stayed in waiting for better weather. I do want needs to be done and make the best of it. I am partially , I seem to like the extremes. Gear up and get out there and enjoy life. Let me get ready for the
How did ya make out on the trip? Sounds like it was a pleasant hunt. Just slaving away for the man trying to pay the bills.
