Wow, just wow. I normally don't drink, but am definitely a civil libertarian, and hope the courts toss this out.

 

Wow, just wow is right! Clutch your civil liberties like your life depends on it...if you don't someday it may.

 

Shhh ... I also don't own guns either, but you can have what you want as far as I am concerned.

In my late teens I was backpacking across Europe with some friends a trip, I had saved for a few years.
We were stopped and questioned and one of my friends instantly friend instantly plead the Fifth Amendment. I believe we were in Austria. They had no idea what that meant!
I soon realized I needed smarter friends.

Crazy we live in a country where people think this is a good thing. My sis in law posted a snippet of utter BS from a guy Constable Mark Smith on facebook refuting and dismissing concerns or fears of the new law. Over reaching powers should not be applauded. How many stupid people do we have up here? Seriously.

The bright side of this, is while maybe they can come to your home 2 hours later to request a breath sample, I don't recall the part saying they can enter your home on suspicion, 2 hours later. Hot pursuit I think so (see me do crime and walk in house, they can chase or follow me in). If I was a drinker (and I'm not, 14 years sober) I would not open the door to be tested and then have to prove I wasn't drinking earlier. If they can enter, well, there goes my door. If not, there's the solution. Reverse onus laws sound like some chit hole country you read about but wouldn't ever go to.

 

I didn’t read the article but how do they know you didn’t drink after you got home?

 

Well good sir, it's now your job to prove that you weren't drinking, not their job to prove you were...
