Just some naughty pine . Well, it is what we burn the first fire every morning to get the stove pumping out some heat quick. EWP does burn hot and fast. Most of the rounds are at 21-22% MC. I've sampled about 15 % and three outliers have tested 35%. Not the bottom of the pile or the biggest rounds nor amount of knot. Some rounds cut up and stacked out of the way last last Winter. For next year, maybe this Spring if need be.
We burn lots of pine here as well. It's plentiful and burns hot. I don't "work" hard for it but most folks will have it bucked and waiting. I save the oddball straight grained stuff for the kids to chop for kindling.
