but would like some nice strong winds or gravity to bring this birch down, it's just off the main trail in this area which we don't use much. Because of this I did make a new spot so we could turn the rhino around.
Patients........ It can wait. Go after something else. In time, it will laying on its back just bagging for you to come and take it.
Not at all, the last one I did was a hell of a lot higher. I hear it's very hard to get certain types of ammo too.
Sucks knowing that wood is just turning to punk up there but it looks like there is little that can be done but to wait it out.
It will be firewood (we'll get some good wood from it) for either the stove or the outside fireplace. I might take a few shots at it with some slugs, it's close to the trail they might use for the county snowmobile association that runs through the corner of our property. The same trail the snowmobile association might use was suppose to be part of the multi use trail but New York State never gave it the ok yet and the town also has a lawsuit against it from some local people who are against the atv part of the multi use trail.
Rock tied to a string tied to a rope tied to the rhino... what could go wrong???? LETS GET RECKLESS!!
how much top of that tree is off to the left in that first picture? That thing looks like it may be balanced there, even if that trunk gave loose would the thing come down?
Yes it would come down, the birch Y's at the point it wedges against he hemlock, lots of top on the other side. A chit load of pressure coming back at the birch stump, once that cuts loose it should come back at the stump.
Methinks it won't take Mother Nature long to fix that little problem. Been a bit windy here and coming your way soon.
This past weekend we had some wind but nothing big, hopefully mother nature is done with the wind events.
I have about 3-4 big trees hanging that I have been waiting for mother nature to take down for the last year...... I think i will finallyhave to start winching and cutting this fall. I hate doing that though as it can get hairy in a heartbeat.
